Some of the furnishings may be a little dated, but it’s family-friendly with plenty of chill-out spots to relax and recharge. Your host can also help organise car rentals, which will come in handy when adventuring further afield. The nearest beach is just 2 kilometres away, while the picturesque city of Rethymno is just 9 kilometres away.

*This home is spread across three floors with no internal lift – it may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility.

*The decor might not be to everyone's taste. It feels a little dated in parts.
