Holiday home
Gables Retreat is a single-storey apartment in Trearddur Bay, a short walk from the beach. The apartment has a double bedroom with single sofa bed and en-suite shower room, and an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Bedding and tea towels are provided but please bring own bathroom and beach towels. Outside is off road parking for two cars or 1 car and a small boat, lockable bike storage and a private lawned garden and patio. Gables Retreat is ideally placed for Trearddur Bay and the rest of Anglesey, including the coastal path, NT Plas Newydd, day trips to Ireland or exploring the mainland including Snowdonia. Please note: Bedding and tea towels provided but guests need to bring their own bathroom and beach towels. Please note: The owner can be flexible on booking start date and is happy to accept short breaks.

Area
Trearddur Bay is an Area of Outstanding National Beauty with a blue-flag beach and an abundance of crystal clear rock pools to explore. Surrounding the bay is a ridge of low lying cliffs that offer beautiful views across the sea and of the western shores of Holy Island. The summer is perfect for water-based activities such as swimming, sailing and windsurfing, whilst those who prefer to relax on terra firma will enjoy the 18-hole golf course at nearby Holyhead. To explore further afield, you can take a quick ferry trip to Dublin and enjoy the famous Irish hospitality. At the South Stack Lighthouse, nature enthusiasts can take advantage of the RSPB Reserve and view a variety of birds in their natural habitat.

We really love The Gables Retreat and Trearddur Bay is a great place with a stunning beach, we stayed here last July and loved it so much we booked again for a week in July this year, the apartment is beautiful, spotless, light and airy, the bedroom is large and the bed is very comfortable, the en-suite bathroom is lovely and clean and we love the use of the private garden, the owners Tina and Terry are fantastic people and very welcoming, we had some car trouble and they could not do enough for us and we are very grateful, we also met Tina's lovely sister and her four very friendly dogs, we had some lovely chats (plus a glass of wine ) with Tina and her caravan, and will really look forward to staying here again (hope so) x Fran and David..

Gables Retreat was spotless and equipped with everything we needed for a wonderful week at Trearddur Bay.. The owners Tina & Terry were very welcoming, friendly and helpful, on hand if needed but never intrusive. The bed and furniture were all very comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the large private garden. Having cycle storage was excellent as was the location for exploring the whole of Holy Island and beyond. We found good places for meals and drinks in the local area and fabulous beaches within easy reach. Looking forward to returning next year.

Clean well equipped accommodation.. Made our stay a very pleasant one even though the weather wasn't always on our side...well it was October. Hosts were just next door and very helpful and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this property and return. Located in a beautiful part of Anglesey it was comfortable and very homely.

This was our first experience of a self catering holiday.. We were a bit wary about the accommodation, being a ground floor apartment within a family home but our fears were unfounded. The accommodation was extremely comfortable, immaculately clean, with a well equipped kitchen, plenty of storage for clothing, Not an essential but we had the benefit of Sky tv plus an excellent wi-fi connection. It was ideal for the two of us. We were not disturbed by our hosts, Tina and Terry, who were not at all intrusive. They were on hand should we needed any help and found them easy to talk too, very warm and friendly. Not only was the property well appointed but there was an excellent and beautiful large private garden, which was not overlooked, enabling us to have a couple of barbecue's during our stay. As well as the barbecue, there was a table with parasol, two chairs plus two garden chairs. There are three short walks down to the beach, one down the main road leading to the Post Office, local shops and an excellent Chinese Restaurant, the second by walking down a side road towards the playing fields (our preferred option) or by taking a public footpath which took you down the side of the cliff (great views of the bay) and through a field towards the Treaddur Bay Hotel. We were treated with a bottle of bubbly on our arrival which was really appreciated after our long journey. Excellent apartment and excellent hosts. Without hesitation we recommend the Gables Retreat If returning to the area, we would, without any hesitation return. Tina and Terry have set a high bench mark for self catering apartments and we were truly spoiled. Let's hope our second self catering holiday can meet the Gables Retreat extremely high standards

The owners of the property, Terry and Tina were friendly and very welcoming.. Nothing was too much trouble and they made extra effort to accommodate our 10 month old son. He loved having a nice garden to play in. We will definitely go back. The area is lovely and there's plenty of places to visit by car.

This apartment is a real gem! Spotlessly clean, cosy and warm, with everything needed for a self-catering holiday. As a solo occupant for part of the time it was good to have the owners on site - they were friendly and helpful. The apartment is an ideal base for visiting all parts of the island. Somewhat disappointed that we didn’t have full control of the central heating with the thermostat being in the owners part of the house.. An electric heater in the sitting area was ok but the bedroom was too cold. Otherwise everything was up to the standard we have come to expect from Sykes.

The best holiday we have had in Wales. The location is great, just a short walk to the Beach and two minutes drive from the main Supermarkets. The food in the area is some of the best I have eaten.

When we arrived we were met by the owners who made us @ home from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, nothing to much trouble. the place was really clean & tidy. The Garden is better than shown in the photo, it was great as we had our son & grandson who visited while we were there,garden was great for them to play in. One of the best holiday Cottages we have stayed in due to our hosts Tina & Terry. We will be back.

Don't be put off by the fact that this is an apartment within a home - it's the nicest holiday let we've ever stayed in. Comfortable, clean and well appointed, with a nice big private garden. We took our 8-year-old daughter with us, and the bedroom is so roomy that sharing was absolutely fine (there's lots of storage space, too). Also, the proprietor couldn't have been more helpful and kind (though wasn't in any way intrusive) so there were no problems at all. And there's wi-fi, which seems to be rare in UK holiday cottages. The 8-minute walk to the beach claim is absolutely true, and Trearddur Bay is a great place for a laid-back family holiday. Top marks!
