I booked a last minute stay as a treat for my family. We arrived for a 2 night stay for a glamping holiday in a bell tent feeling very excited. It was just after 6pm when we arrived. Reception was closed but details of where our tent was was on the door. We pulled up and everything seemed fine until it was time to go in the tent to sleep. We set up the pull out beds to realise one was wet, and therefore unable to sleep on this. There was also a HUGE amount of earwigs crawling everywhere, this included the floor, the beds and around the side and top of the tent. We spent lots of time trying to get as many out the tent as possible but as soon as we looked again they where everywhere again. We were unable to speak to reception as it was closed so 2 of us had to sleep on the bed that wasn’t wet, with earwigs everywhere and 3 of us had to sleep in our car! We had no sleep and spoke to reception in the morning about this. They offered to get pest control to spray the tent, which due to myself and my daughter having asthma and allergies this was not an option as we where not happy to then sleep in the tent after chemicals had been sprayed, and the other option was to sleep in the tent near by which was free, to which by this point the children where too scared to do incase the same thing happened again and we would have had to sleep in the car again! We offers to pay extra to stay in a wooden hut, but decided to leave as no other suitable alternative was available as they where fully booked. This completely ruined our trip and they said “as a good will gesture” they will refund our second night stay as we had left! I am furious that a full refund has not been recieved as we did not pay to sleep on a wet bed with earwigs crawling all over us! This was not the description I paid for! They have been completely unsympathetic to the fact we have had a ruined getaway and a complete waste of money! I have never had such an awful experience and poor customer service. Extremely disappointed and shocked by the response from this company.

We thoroughly enjoyed everything about the lodge.. There was nothing we didn't want for....down to the dishwasher tablets to tea towels.....it was just superb!!! We'd love to come back one day

The holiday accommodation was exceptionally good and located near to the places that we wanted to visit.. There were a couple of observations that could be made about White Cross Bay / Parkdean facilities: 1. The bar shut at 2100hrs 2. The gym & swimming pool were chargeable at £15.00 extra and shut at 1600hrs, so not worth participating with. Still a great holiday though

The lodge was very nice and well equipped.. The furniture was comfortable and convenient. The hot tub was very nice. Overall, you can tell that there’s a genuine interest of the owner in providing a good experience to guests. On the negative side, 2 things: The Internet connection was very bad, which is disappointing. The temperature of the lodge was a bit low, and because they use a centralized system to save money, we could not have a comfortable temperature in the bedrooms.

Perfect location and all we needed for both families and enough space in the lodge. Excellent eating options at the lodge (inside or out). BBQ was great. Safe environment for kids. Lodge itself well shaded from the heat and that's nice. Nice walks to the water, lovely to watch the sun go down. Hot tube was optional but feel that it should just be included in price even if price goes up to include the tub. Excellent location for day trips about lakes and has lots of amenities around the site as well. Swimming pool and gym great plus site option like games for kids that you pay for but we didn't do those as kids not old enough. Certainly recommend this lodge and we hope to return

Just returned from a 6 day break at Footprints and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. This spacious Lodge is set amongst trees near a small stream and grassed area. The decor is first-class and the furnishings very comfortable. The large decking area at the front of the Lodge houses a lush hot-tub and patio heater, which made the evenings that little more special. Feeders set in the surrounding trees attract an abundance of birds and there are regular visits by several ducks and rabbits. One evening a stag came within 7 yards of the front of the Lodge and stood and watched us for about 5 minutes before turning and slowly walking away down a small footpath. If you are looking for pure rest, relaxation and quietness, you will love Footprints Lodge. Highly recommended.

Stayed at Footprints for long weekend in March. Beautifully presented lodge with all your home comforts. Loved the furnishings and decor. Boys aged 10 and 14 particularly liked the hot tub. The lodge was well placed for reception and the play area, but in a nice secluded location next to a stream, with a lovely mature tree at the front. Will definitely be staying again as thoroughly enjoyed our stay

I've just spent a lovely weekend catching up with friends at Footprints Lodge. The lodge is set at the front of the park, close to the club house. It was lovely and welcoming, with the added bonus of a hot tub. It is clean and beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Just the place to relax and chill out after a long walk or shopping in nearby Windermere or Ambleside. A great place, I would visit again.
