The Grand Union Canal is close by as is the village country pub and restaurant which serves home-cooked food and real ales. Close by, Lapworth Village is strongly associated with the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, as the leader of the plotters, Robert Catesby, was born and lived here, and his tomb is in Lapworth Church. Henley-in-Arden boasts one of the most unspoilt high streets in the country, which contains over 150 buildings listed as being of Special or Historic interest. The town has its own Heritage Centre, itself dating back to the 12th century, with many restaurants, traditional pubs and individual shops, as well as a selection of sports facilities including golf courses, tennis courts and fishing.

Our host had decorated the property ready for Christmas which was a lovely touch.. A little gift also was really thoughtful. The accommodation was clean and really comfortable. We were really busy and arriving back to a warm cozy place was super. Great peaceful location.

Hospitable hosts, great location.. It was a lovely warm and comfortable place to come back to after a day out. The added bonus was having the use of a wonderful indoor swimming pool!! It is the first place we really feel we would come back to.

Great location but the whole place needs a good tidy up. Its like a building site. If this had been an overseas package holiday i would have rung the rep. The gardens are full of items strewn all over. The bins were put out on Monday and werent returned till Thursday despite two requests so the pedal bin in the kitchen was full in temperatures of 30+. The cupboard had a loaf of bread in which was 13 days past its sell by date, obviously not cleaned out after previous guests left. Washing machine was on the blink and we had to move it through the cycles manually. Stunning location but overpriced as the place felt scruffy and uncared for. We also had the misfortune of having a miserable neighbour who, when my wife went for a swim stated she couldnt expect to have a peaceful swim as she was there with her young children. The pool itself looked uncared for and was dirty around the edges. Most of information leaflets were years out of date so we replaced them with the 2018 editions. Nobody asked if we were okay or needed anything. Would definitely stay in the area again but not here. Rang the agents who contacted the owners who like the dustbins weren't in any rush to return! They said we should have brought these things to their attention whilst on holiday. I went on holiday to relax not do an audit! The place has massive potential but should stop taking bookings whilst it resembles Benidorm in the 1970's

Our third stay in this lovely comfortable cottage.. The usual warm welcome from the owners together with the welcome pack. A central setting for the beautiful Warwickshire countryside. Woke on our last morning to the sight of three deer in the grounds. All being well we'll be back again.

Everythng was fine but a couple of suggestions-wi fi was a bit hit and miss in the bedroom and a better curtain or a sliding door for bathroom as it was a bit odd having no door.. But we had a great time and hope to revisit

The cottage was ideally situated for visiting Stratford on Avon, Warwick, Birmingham, Coventry and various National Trust properties. There were a number of other places we didn't have time to visit. Had we visited in the summer there were canal walks close by. If we were visiting the area again, we would definitely consider staying in the cottage.
