Property Description

This cottage is ideally suited to those looking for a quiet retreat, tucked away in a peaceful location just off the high street of Steyning with all that you would need on your doorstep and stunning country walks nearby. The market town of Steyning dates back to Saxon times and is nestled at the foot of the South Downs. The picturesque high street is famous for its medieval buildings, with a variety of quaint shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, and is within a 500 metre stroll of the cottage. Steyning is popular and is ideally situated for exploring the glorious South Downs and the ancient village of Bramber (1 mile) with its castle ruins. Close by are the seaside towns of Shoreham by Sea (5.5 miles), with its lovely beaches, and Brighton (13 miles) with seaside attractions and an array of shops. There is also a regular local bus service to both destinations. Arriving at the cottage, you enter via a little pathway that leads past the lawn to the patio, which is a lovely sheltered spot to enjoy the sun and relax with a book and a glass of something chilled. Entering through the garden room, you reach the charming period sitting room. Cosy and welcoming, it has a comfortable sofa, an armchair, and a tucked away chaise longue, perfect for relaxing after a busy day whilst catching up with your favourite movie on the Smart TV with Netflix. A door leads to the dining room, with its period dining table and seating for up to four people, additional comfortable seating and a variety of books to enjoy. The dining room leads to the stylish, well equipped kitchen. On the first floor is the first bedroom with antique furniture and a restful king size bed. Along the landing is a large bathroom where you can choose either soaking in the freestanding roll top clawfoot bath whilst admiring the uninterrupted view looking out across the village and the South Downs beyond, or a quick morning shower. On the second floor is the second bedroom with a comfortable and luxurious king size bed and the same glorious view. There are wooden floors and doors throughout the cottage, adding to the cosy rustic vibe. Head outside through the garden room to the patio, with tables and chairs to dine al fresco on a warm summer s evening.
