We had a wonderful stay at Hampton Lodge, the setting is beautiful, so peaceful and relaxing. The lodge is equally as beautiful and very well equipped. Barbara very quickly assisted us with everything and we genuinely couldn't ask or want for more. We really loved it here and would definitely return and highly recommend.

As a young family with 3 boys, one under 2, we were very happy with our week away at Hampton Lodge. We found the facilities and layout to be well thought through with useful provisions such as stair gates on the stairway, badminton and table tennis facilities etc. The lodge has a very pleasant outward aspect, especially when sitting in the generously sized hot tub under the covered area (ideal if the weather turns), this was therefore very much a luxurious experience that catered for our children during the day and allowed us to relax in the evening (no easy feat). Barbara, the host was fantastic, she ensured we had everything we needed when we arrived and was very pleasant to speak to. All in all, a fantastic lodge located in a beautiful place where we made some happy family memories, very much recommended.

After looking at a few other places, I fell upon this nugget of gold and asked my husband Scott to book straight away. It was the BEST place we have stayed and we have stayed in lots!! The very spacious ground floor living area and open plan design is amazing and there is everything you need (bring kitchen roll though!) The massive veranda has a high roof and covers a fabulous seating area and of course the amazing large hot tub which was spotless and enjoyed by the 3 of us. The upstairs master bedroom is amazing too and on the one night it did rain, was really cosy and dreamy. The cooker is also fab with six pot places and large heating grills if there were 8 staying. There is so many activities not that far away. Me and my boy did the zip world ziplining which is an experience we will never forget. You have to do this. its about 1.5 hours drive but and experience you cannot miss out on. We also done river bugging that was also amazing (if booking ask for Arron Kendal to be your instructor - he was amazing) The shops are fabulous and there are lovely gardens to visit too. The shops where the river bugging is are amazing and I would defo recommend the lovely bakery there after you come out of the water! Barbara is lovely and if you needed anything that isnt there - she would go and get it for you! Her homemade Victoria Sponge was a delight on arrival and the awesome Jacobs sheep are a dream to watch as you sit outside. All in all the best holiday ever and you will regret nothing booking this place. Cant wait to go back.

The lodge is situated in its own grounds with lots of space around, it has everything you need from a hot tub to a washing machine, spacious 4 bedroom luxury lodge that is very quiet and relaxing, the owners are lovely, they leave you to enjoy your break but are only a 2 minute away if you need them (they will attend to the hot tub with occasional checks). Chester is only half an hour away and Ellesmere only a few minutes drive with a Tesco supermarket if needed. If you like quiet, isolated and relaxing then this is the place for you, I will be rebooking.

We were 3 generations of one family, 8 people. February half term isn't always the best time to go away, but Hampton Lodge proved to be just right for us. It was spotlessly clean, and well equipped. We particularly liked the large living/kitchen area, which meant that nobody felt left out, even if they were preparing food. And the hot tub, of course, in its sheltered place on the verandah. Barbara was very friendly and helpful about places to visit - and there was a surprising amount to do, even in February! If the house and the area are this good at the tail end of winter, they must be fabulous in summer.

We had a fabulous time at Hampton lodge. It was a family get together as we are all spread about the country. The setting is really rural which is so peaceful, and there was lovely walks straight from the lodge, even along the county roads as they hardly have any cars going by. There was plenty of local amenities nearby in Ellesmere just a few miles away, and a great pub called sun inn at Welshampton which you can walk to (2 miles). The lodge itself is very well presented. We loved that it was mostly all on one level so we felt very together. The hot tub was fantastic! You didn’t have to go beyond the veranda to get in it so it was an any weather activity as it’s fully covered but has great views of the sunset. The hosts were wonderful, friendly and made us feel very welcome. Another great point for us is that it is disability friendly, my mum has mobility issues but due to it all being on the ground floor this was no problem and she still felt very much part of the group and could take her scooter on walks along the country lanes with us all. We will definitely return. Thankyou!

We recently visited Hampton lodge for a girls reunion. It was the most wonderful, peaceful, relaxing and blissful setting. The lodge is furnished to a high standard, it was spacious and had everything we needed. We were informed that the hot tub was cleaned and fresh water is put in prior to each arrival which was reassuring to know. Barbara was so lovely and accommodating and made us a delicious Victoria sponge which was as described “a taste of the countryside”. We loved Ellesmere and the local surrounding area. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend to all.

We recently visited Hampton Lodge for a week’s family staycation (6 adults, 1 child) and it was fantastic from start to finish. The location was peaceful with beautiful views. There was a thoughtful touch of home made Victoria sponge cake for our arrival. The accommodation itself was spacious, with lovely decor and furnishings and we immediately felt at home. The kitchen is well equipped, and the beds comfy. Barbara was a lovely host during our stay and made some great recommendations of places to visit which we took up. During the week we played a lot of badminton (which made for some great competition!), cooked on the barbecue and relaxed in the hot tub. Overall a fantastic stay in great accommodation; we came back relaxed and refreshed. Would definitely recommend!

The lodge sits in a beautiful peaceful place, surrounded by green fields and mature trees.. The facilities are excellent. The jacuzzi was enjoyed by all. Barbara the hostess, was unfailingly friendly and helpful. There are plenty of places to visit.. The little ones enjoyed the nearby Children's farm and older guests enjoyed walks along the canal and exploring Ellesmere. We thoroughly recommend this as a holiday destination for those who want to treat themselves to something a little bit special.

Myself and 7 other girls have just had a long weekend at Hampton lodge and my god, it was amazing! The lodge is immaculate, it's so cosy and homely. We loved the massive hot tub that was always clean and constantly a lovely temperature (even on a cold January morning). We felt so relaxed and comfortable at Hampton lodge and definitely didn't want to leave. The rooms were spacious and clean, the views were stunning to wake up to and it was so calm and peaceful outside. We loved the sponge cake that Barbara had left for our arrival! We have all got the blues now and would love to come back here for another girlie weekend away. The only minor downside to the lodge is the WiFi wasn't great at all (not that we minded to much for the most of it) but in regards to keeping in touch with kids/partners and being able to Google places of interest.. it was a bit of a let down. I did however speak to Barbara about this when she popped by to see if everything was OK and she is aware of this slight issue.

This was not our first Christmas visit to Hampton Lodge but once again it did not disappoint. On arrival the Lodge is decorated for the festive season so you are straight away in the spirit for Christmas which was complimented by the lovely homemade mince pies that welcomed us made by the the wonderful hosts Barbara and Richard. The lodge offers fantastic clean facilities to accommodate our family and offers the additional bonus of the hot tub, nothing can beat a bucks fizz sat in the hot tub on Christmas morning. We would highly recommend a visit to Hampton lodge at any time of the year.

This lodge is absolutely beautiful. It is set in a fantastic location in the countryside which is very peaceful. It is very well equipped and has a lovely kitchen. The beds are very comfortable. And there is plenty of room for everyone. The owner Barbara is lovely and very helpful. I cannot wait to return again at some point next year.

I stayed here end of November with a group of girls and it is such a lovely place to stay. I really loved the yummy Victoria Sponge that was baked and left for us on arrival. Such a nice homely gesture and very welcoming. Barbara was coming around to maintain the hot tub daily with such a jolly attitude. The beds were very comfy and clean. The shower was hot. A very comfortable stay for a few days. The only down side which did affect me was that I couldn't connect to the wifi. It seems that iphones could connect just fine, but samsung phones couldn't. I didn't like to feel cut off from the outside world too much as i couldn't speak to my partner. If this could be fixed I'd give it 5/5 stars but it did make me slightly panicky there, so I've given a 4/5. If this is something that can be looked into and sorted for next time I'd definitely stay again as it's in a brilliant location and such lovely surroundings. There is a tesco close by aswell if you need any food items etc. Definitely worth the stay !

We were lucky enough to spend a week at Hampton Lodge for my 40th birthday this month. The lodge was very clean and comfortable, kitchen well equipped, beds and linen were of good quality and really comfy and the hot tub was massive, spotlessly clean and just fabulous! Barbara was a lovely host and ensured everything ran smoothly without imposing at all on our break. My only small suggestion re the lodge would be that the living room set up could have been a bit comfier, there wasn't much sofa space on the one evening we all wanted to just curl up and chill out. Another small thing was the WiFi is very poor and mobile signal very weak, it wasn't possible to stream any TV or music so would recommend bringing pre downloaded films or music if that is what you would like to do. We really did have a fabulous stay and would.highly recommend for either a group getaway or a romantic break.

With our holiday to Portugal cancelled we were in need to find somewhere quick in the U.K....What a find this was. We were so lucky. Stunning lodge in a stunning location. Lodge was immaculate and has everything you need with a large hot tub. The view from the veranda is beautiful and the woods came alive with the sounds of the birds and in particular owls on an evening. The lodge is only 5 minutes from a small village with a great pub/restaurant and the larger Ellesmere a further few minutes. This was also a great base to explore Shropshire and into Wales. Barbara was a great host giving us the right communication, helpful advice and space, 5 stars and we would fully recommend this......brilliant!

Wow what a fantastic place to be! Barbara the owner was more than helpful and even made us a beautiful cake. The property is immaculately clean and the beds are 10 out of 10 for comfort. We was provided with everything we needed other than food so you can basically say our every need was catered to. Relaxing scenery with enough space to let your hair down and truly enjoy your surroundings. We will definitely be going back. There was only one downfall to this booking 3 days just wasn’t long enough !

What an absolute treasure of a place ! 8 of us have just got back from a 5 night stay at Hampton Lodge. Barbara was an amazing host baking a beautiful sponge cake on arrival. Beautiful lodge set away, amazing sat in the hot tub watching the sheep and rolling landscape. Very well equipped ! Comfy beds and very spacious, love that there’s enough sofas etc to relax as well as be able to all sit round the table. We did a couple of activities went surfing at surf park snowdonia and did clay pigeon shooting in Wrexham with adventure north Wales (teal sports). Beautiful drink at the Boat inn on a sunny day and a visit to pontcystelle aqueduct. Couldn’t fault the place or the hosts, highly recommend !!

Just back from 5 days in Shropshire - and what a find this was ! In these strange times - if you want space with quality then this is the place. Barbara is such a fantastic host - and bakes a sponge cake like no other ! Beautifully crafted and modern lodge - absolutely immaculate. Even though it can cater for 8 - just the two of us never felt like it was over-indulgent. Lovely to have space and seclusion. If you are lucky enough to get the weather then the country lanes around the property are a joy. Can imagine this would be a fantastic setting for a Christmas treat as well as a summer getaway.

Everything you need here for a luxury holiday in lovely surroundings. Great fun with the table tennis and badminton as well as a top of the range hot tub to relax in at the end of the day. Quiet location surrounded by fields but not too far from local amenities and plenty of places to explore. Our host Barbara was always available for any question, friendly and helpful with a lovely cake to welcome us. The lodge was well presented and equipped.

Perfectly presented property, spotlessly clean! Set in the prettiest location. The views are unreal, the lodge is fit for any purpose, everything you need is there. The lodge is beautiful, so spacious yet so homely. Barbara is so kind and her cake is amazing. The hot tub was a massive hit for our family and was used daily. The views from the hot tub especially at Sunset were unbelievable. Just a 5 min car journey is the “BoatHouse” which is perfectly situated around the “Mere” fabulous place to visit and walk around. The food at the BoatHouse was lush If you are into your biking, then you must visit “Llandegla Park” the views are breathtaking. Advice would be to book ahead of your visit if you want to visit various places, due to Covid this is a must to avoid any disappointment. Shrewsbury town for shopping was great, canal walks, and Alton Towers which is just an hour and a half away. There are various places to visit, for all ages, just a short car journey away, just make sure you book! We couldn’t fault our stay if anything it exceeded all of our expectations.

Our stay at Hampton Lodge was perfect. The lodge is absolutely beautiful, spacious and spotlessly clean - the place had everything we needed from various cooking utensils to board games to towels. Set in a quiet location with gorgeous views and a hot tub on a south facing veranda; ideal for the sunny weather we had. There was 8 of us staying in the lodge and we felt we had lots of space throughout the entire stay, we could go from all sunbathing all day to all having a cosy seat on the sofa in the evening. Each room was spacious and had everything we needed and the beds are extremely comfortable. Barbara was warm and welcoming on arrival, she shared helpful information and had baked us a yummy cake, she made herself available for any questions or help we needed at any time however was not intrusive at any point, we were left to enjoy our holiday without any disruption. We didn’t end up venturing out around the area however seems there is plenty to do in Ellesmere and surrounding areas. We spent our time playing board games, playing badminton and table tennis with the equipment provided by the lodge! No complaints at all - thank you so much for having us! Would love to stay again.

This lovely lodge, set alone, near to Ellesmere, was a perfect retreat. Peaceful and secluded, we were a party of three adults and two children and we all enjoyed the lodge, the hot tub and the countryside. Lots to see and do locally, but also great for chilling in the hot tub. Barbara, the owner, is great! Most helpful but left us to our own devices. She baked us a lovely cake on our arrival, which was greatly appreciated. The lodge is high spec and beautifully kept, would not hesitate to recommend.

This is an absolute beautiful immaculately clean lodge with wonderful attention to detail. It has everything you need and more. Barbara is such a warm thoughtful hostess and yes does bake delicious cake!! We are a family of 6 adults and 1 child so the space inside and out was invaluable and we made the most of it. Running, playing. BBQing, laughing, singing, TV , music, eating, dancing, drinking, exploring, sunbathing, ping pong, badminton, reading, Hot tub relaxing, unwinding, cooking, loving being a family altogether sharing happy times and memories to treasure in such glorious surroundings. THANK YOU Barbara & Richard for making this possible. The Lodge is so comfortable and spacious you don't have to venture out but on the days we did ..... ....visit Ellesmere and spent a gloriously hot day on the Mere, boating, picnicing, feeding the wildlife and eating the Boathouse ice cream!! We visited Oswestry and loved the market stalls we all came back with some good buys!! I mean who can resist a 'pig in wellies' for the garden!! We came across Whittington Castle and spent a lazy afternoon in all it's splendour. We soaked up the atmospheric Ludlow Castle enchanted by it's rich history and listened for the echoes of years gone by.... Magnificent!!! We spent the hottest day ever at Ironbridge Blists Hill Victorian Town we enjoyed it's 'good old days' sentiment and all it's quirkiness awakening our curiosity. Senses all heightened by the sounds, smells, sights, touch and feelings of an age gone by....wonderful!! Then you taste the beef dripping fish & chips and life doesn't get any better ....... We have all enjoyed our week and the weather was amazing ,even the lightening storms at night were spectacular!!

Fabulous location , great scenery , so peaceful ! Barbara and Richard have a gem on their hands here. the Lodge was spotlessly clean , tidy , magnificent beds, and high quality fixtures and fittings , and the Hot Tub as an added bonus. Ellesmere main local town is great and has all the amenities you need including a large supermarket , 10 mins to Town down the Country roads. 5 minutes the other way towards Whitchurch to the Sun Inn with good food and a lovely Beer Garden. 6 Adults on our trip , one with disabilities , and the property was perfect for them with easy access to all main areas. Amazing very private location yet close enough to amenities and attractions. Fitted our two families of 3 and 4 amply. Stunning lodge, very comfortable beds and sofas and equipped with all you could need plus more ! The hot tub was loved by all and was lovely at night with no jets on listening to the owls. Daytime equally as good with buzzards swooping across the fields. We visited many places despite the terrible weather we had including Llangollen canal trip which was wonderful. Llanfair Welshpool steam train, Chirk castle, Powis castle, Ironbridge, Bridgenorth funicular, ironworks sculpture park and RAF Cosford were also visited. Shrewsbury looked lovely but we were flooded out of the city by storm Dennis so couldn’t get there. Barbara was a wonderful host leaving the most divine Victoria sponge for us, very helpful and welcoming on arrival and unobtrusive during our stay stealthily coming to clean the hot tub every day ! Brought us some washing capsules I kept forgetting to buy every trip out ! She was there if we needed anything at all. Thanks Barbara for the most wonderful week we will definitely be back.

My husband and I due to work commitmnets now live 245 miles away from most of our Children so to have such a beautiful location to spend Christmas all together means so much to us. We cannot fault the lodge and the hot tub is a great bonus. Barbara is so welcoming and makes you feel at ease from the moment you arrive. The lodge is decorated beautifully for the festive season we hope to spend many more Christmas holidays there in the future.

We went to Hampton Lodge for a week to celebrate my 50th birthday. It was a family holiday and there were 8 of us and there was plenty of room. Barbara came to welcome us and she couldn't have been more friendly and helpfull. The hot tub was great and was used numerous times during our stay. We all went for an evening meal at The Boat in Erbistock (recommended by Barbara) and the food was amazing. We used Mere Karz who had an 8 seater to take all of us together and the driver was great. We would definitely recommend Hampton Lodge and would love to come back again.

Just returned from a girls weekend staying at Hampton lodge and it did not disappoint! We arrived on Friday and instantly felt welcomed. Barbara popped over to introduce herself and provided us with some useful information. She is so friendly and bakes you a lovely cake! We cooked every night and there was plenty of kitchen utensils to use! The lodge was spacious for 8 of us and the hot tub was also big enough for us all to go in at the same time. Saturday we chilled, used the hot tub and watched Netflix which was so relaxing. We went to the boat house for Sunday lunch which I would also recommend! On a whole we all thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and would definitely recommend to anyone! Thanks again Barbara!

If your looking for somewhere to get away from it all this is the place. Nothing around you to spoil your peace except the wildlife. This is an amazing lodge with everything you need for a family get together or maybe just the 2 of you. The hot tub is perfect after a day sightseeing. Perfect

As a family of 4 (2 children age 13 and 8), we all thoroughly enjoyed our week's break to Hampton Lodge. The hot tub was a huge hit and the location just perfect for a 'getaway from it all' holiday. We had a great meal at the Boat House in Ellesmere and a fun bike ride along the canal to Welshampton. A trip to Shrewsbury and Llangollen across the border in Wales is also a must. We would definitely recommend Hampton Lodge.

Stayed here with friends as an early 50th celebration. The lodge is absolutely beautiful, tastefully and comfortably decorated throughout. Comfy beds, good showers, towels for hot tub use, plenty of crockery, cutlery everything you could possibly need was catered for. The surroundings are blissful just a few sheep, pheasants and the odd rabbit. Sitting in the hot tub sipping prosecco and listening to the wonderful sound of nature was just perfect. Barbara popped by on arrival to introduce herself and run over some things, and she bobbed by each day to check the tub. Never intrusive, just a lovely lady who makes great cakes. Our one trip out was a walk to the Sun Inn pub, but on route we were offered s lift from a local farmer, ladies in the truck men in the trailer, hilarious, what a gem of a guy dropped us off on the pub carpark. I can honestly say we had a fabulous time and made some great memories. I would highly recommend it is all it says and more. Cant wait to revisit, so thank you very much Barbara and Richard we had a blast.

We are a family with 5 children ranging from 3 months to 12 years old. Hampton Lodge was a beautiful and perfect place to relax for our first holiday with our youngest baby. The lodge itself had everything and more - even condiments and dishwasher tablets etc were there unlike other self catering places we have stayed. Towels were provided for both showers and hot tub separately - and the beautiful lodge was spotless. There was plenty of space outside for our children to play too and we could relax on the veranda, and wow the hot tub was huge, and definitely the best we have experienced - we have been on several “hot tub lodge’ breaks in various parts of the UK. My husband and I enjoyed badminton with the eldest 3 in the evenings as the sun was setting, or just relaxing in the hot tub watching the sheep pottering about. The boys loved running about outside, our 2 year old chattered to the sheep every day and every evening he toddled to say good night to them. We loved table tennis and the board games too. We first ate out at the Cross Foxes - fabulous quality food, and welcoming to children - great children’s park nearby too (we went twice!) We had a walk at Ellesmere and ate in the Boathouse, again great for the children and adults and lovely view over the Mere. Barbara was so welcoming and helpful with recommendations yet never intruded on our holiday...and the cake was just fabulous. We ordered our main food shop online (as there for a week with children) and delivery was smooth but there is plenty of small local shops / butchers / pharmacy / supermarket too. I enjoy running and it was so peaceful to be able to run from the lodge along the lanes, I rarely saw a car despite 6 mile runs. We also visited Llangollen which understandably was busy with it being Bank holiday but we had booked and ate in the Corn Mill pub there. We had a walk in a country park near there too. We had a fantastic holiday here and definitely would recommend. There are plenty of days out a short drive away but this trip we spent time relaxing and letting the children just enjoy local parks and the lodge so we will have to return!

We went on a girlie weekend at Hampton Lodge after to going to Centre Parcs for more than 10 years. This lodge was absolutely brilliant. We instantly felt relaxed enjoying the beautifully decorated lodge and hot tub on the veranda. The location is lovely and isolated, so no-one disturbing you, and you not disturbing anyone else. Some of the group went on a lovely walk to a nearby village. There is everything you need from Netflix on the tv, plenty of towels, games to play and a lovely big fridge and freezer for all our supplies. Barbara was brilliant and couldn't have made us any more welcome.

Our visit was for a 60th birthday celebration and this beautiful lodge proved perfect for the occasion. The peaceful location, lovely scenery and wonderful hot tub all added to a most enjoyable (and all too short) stay. Barbara’s delicious cake and friendly welcome were also much appreciated. The lodge was a fantastic “home” for four adults and one baby for the week but also easily absorbed three additional adults for the actual family “party” - champagne tastes just as good from a plastic glass when you are sitting in a bubbling, relaxing hot tub with Jacob sheep looking on! Also a bonus was the walk along quiet country lanes to the local “Sun Inn” where good food and good beer were on offer. For an extra treat we visited the excellent “Cross Foxes” with its super food and impressive view down the Dee. We will be returning! Just two small points- the kitchen work space is really limited and the stairs to the main bedroom rather steep. These things did not put us off.

This was our second visit and we weren’t disappointed. This is a really lovely Lodge in peaceful surroundings with things to see and do only a short drive away. My husband is an amateur astronomer and he was delighted with the lack of light pollution which resulted in superb views of the Milky Way. This left me plenty of time to spend in the Hot tub! It’s comfortable, clean and cosy. Would definitely recommend and hopefully return in the future. Thank you Barbara and Richard.

Had a great girls weekend.. 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms were perfect. Hot tub was well used , it’s lovely and big. Never been to a lodge before, but this one is better than some cottages we’ve been to. Lovely and warm top quality fittings etc.

We were a family of six over three generations holidaying but found that the amenities at the lodge suited us all well especially the hot tub! It was well signposted with clear instructions to get to it. We found the lodge to be clean, tidy and well equipped and the welcoming cake was much appreciated. Our hosts welcomed us but did not interfere in any way during the week. We would love to go back again.

Our host Barbara was wonderful! She was so welcoming and made sure our stay was easy and as relaxed as it could be. She had provided us with plenty of information on what to do in the area and good places to eat (this did not disappoint). The lodge itself is located in a lovely part of Shropshire with lots of walks nearby. Although it was only a five minute drive to Ellesmere, our group thoroughly enjoyed the serenity of the location with most evenings spent in the hot tub. We loved the amount the lodge had to offer, catering to everyone's needs. The table tennis was a big hit with our mini tournaments and the field was great for rounders. We had a lovely barbecue outside on the bench, the lodge really had everything we wanted and so much more! The lodge was immaculate and all the bedrooms were a great size. The kitchen was well equipped, making it easy to cook for all seven of us. We all had an amazing week with so many laughs, thank you so much Barbara for being the perfect host and of course the cake you made was delicious. We're looking forward to our next visit and the cakes!

We were a party of 7 and had a fabulous week at Hampton Lodge. Ideal in so many ways. Lovely quiet, safe setting. Our Grandchildren aged 8,7 & 5 could run around outside safely and entertain themselves. The hot tub was amazing and was well used by us all. Lodge well equipped in every department from the kitchen equipment, outside games, and towels for the hot tub. The Children enjoyed reading the books before bedtime. There was no shaver point in the lodge, but when we spoke to Barbara she immediately resolved it by leaving us a two pin plug. We enjoyed some wonderful days out including, Park Hall Farm, Attingham Park (National Trust), Chester Zoo, The Follies and the final day was canal boat hire which was our favourite day. The only downside was the water pressure. Only one water source at a time so be warned if somebody is in the shower don't flush the toilet or use dishwasher, run a tap or anything. Once you know about it you can work around it. All in all a great memorable week. Would we return? Yes we would! Its just a lovely place to come and spend a week to get away. Oh and mustn't forget the wonderful welcome cake - Well done Barbara - fantastic all round - Thank you.

Having just spent a very relaxing weekend in this lovely cottage I would recommend it to anyone. The setting is idyllic, surrounded by fields, woodland and sheep. The accommodation itself has everything one could wish for and is absolutely immaculate inside and out. All rooms are a good size, 3 bathrooms certainly helps for larger parties and the hot tub and outside veranda are among the nicest I have seen at any cottages I have stayed at. The owners are friendly and welcoming with nothing being too much trouble and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a true 'get away from it all' break. Should you wish to explore locally however all amenities are less than 20 mins away.

Hampton Lodge was the perfect place for our group of five seniors. The accommodation was excellent and we received a very warm welcome from Barbara, (the owner). The lodge proved the ideal position from which to explore. We enjoyed visits to a number of National Trust properties including, Chirk Castle and the fascinating Erddig Hall and Gardens. Llangollen and the horse drawn barge trip was also favourites. If you want to eat out in the evenings, unfortunately you will need to take the car. However the nearest local pub,The Sun Inn at Welshampton proved to be perfect for us with a good variety of excellent meals. Back to the Lodge. The facilities were first class and the hot tub a great addition. One point visitors might wish to be aware of is that the upstairs bedroom is accessed by a rather steep wooden staircase, which may be an issue for the "not so fit" guest. We would heartily recommend Hampton Lodge to anyone looking for a quiet rural base, from which to explore Shropshire and surrounding area

An amazing venue in such a beautiful and isolated environment. Early communication from the hosts ensured we were fully prepared with details and directions ahead of our stay. The small touches really added value to the stay, thoughtful considerations to help start our holiday off as soon as we arrived. Milk for teas accompanied by some cake. Very thoughtful. The accommodation was perfect for our needs and the hot tub was out of this world. Barbara was a great host and helped with all of our needs. Would highly recommend this place and will be booking again.

This is a lovely rural setting, the house sits on its own among meadows and trees. The partridges and pheasants say hello. Narrow lanes lead to Ellesmere and Welshampton. The birdsong almost sounds amplified in the quiet and at night there is no light pollution. The grandsons loved the hot tub as did we when the rest of the family left! The place is altogether of a high standard - far above what one would, sadly, normally associate with this country.

Our party of 2 families with teenage children spent a great week at Hampton Lodge. The lodge is very well appointed with all that's necessary for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The hot tub was well used by all, particularly the younger ones. Good pubs and restaurants nearby, the Cross Foxes at Erbistock, The Sun Inn at Welshampton and The Boat House in Ellesmere were recommended by Barbara (Hampton Lodges's owner) and are well with a visit. There's lots to do in the area particularly if you are prepared to drive for an hour or so. The Ironbridge museums are very good and the numerous activities in Wales are well worth the trip (Bounce Below and the Zip Wire at Blaenau Ffestiniog and the Ffestiniog railway make for a great day out with dinner at the Cross Foxes on the way back). A more sedate day but just as good fun is to hire a canal boat from Llangollen and go over the amazing Pontcysyllte Aqueduct with lunch at the Navigation Inn on the half way point. We had a great week at Hampton Lodge and I thoroughly recommend both the lodge itself and the area in general

This was our second visit and it was just as fantastic as our first time. Beautiful location for 8 friends to unwind and chill. The hot tub is by far the best I've been in - plenty of room for 8 of us, exceptionally clean and perfect temperature. Absolutely gorgeous cake welcomed us - thank you Barbara. Cannot think of anything that can be improved upon. The kitchen is fully equipped - we managed to cook a full Sunday roast with ease. Would highly recommend.

What an amazing week we all had at this wonderful log cabin. Even better than the pictures portrayed. There were six of us plus a young baby, our grandson. We all had comfortable bedrooms, two with ensuites, one with an adjacent bathroom. A fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine. A wonderful lounge and dining area with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside and wildlife seen through the glass gable end. Plus a relaxing hot tub outside under the extended roof line. Barbara and her husband the owners couldn't have been more helpful, and made us feel very welcome. All in all we had a really wonderful and unforgettable week and we look forward to our next visit. Absolutely beautiful & idyllic setting for the family to enjoy and also explore afar. House was AMAZING & the Aqua Spa ( Well I've got to get one ) An amazing meeting point to spend the week with my beautiful family to get together celebrate my dear Wife's, Mother & Nanny's 50th birthday. Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful or relaxing setting. Who knew Britain had such beautiful locations? House was beautiful spotlessly clean and a privilege to stay in. October 2017
We booked Hampton Lodge for a family get together as we needed somewhere large enough for 8 persons. The lodge exceeded our expectations and the photographs did not do it justice. The high level of presentation and finish made it a home from home. It is situated in a very quiet location. The owner Barbara is a lovely lady and gave a warm welcome on arrival. She left a beautiful homemade spongecake with complimentary Tea, Coffee and milk. The night before we left Barbara visited and to make sure that we enjoyed our stay and whether there was anything she could do to improve what the lodge offered. We felt that the lodge offered everthing you needed and did not need improving. Interesting places to visit such as the Llangollen Canal and Heritage site, Chester Zoo, Chester town and National Trust properties including Chirk Castle and Attingham Park are not too far away. Telford World Heritage site is a little further away with Ironbridge and several museums to visit. It is definately a place to revisit.

Every year 7 of us go away and finding the perfect place for a great weekend is very hard these days but this year we stayed at Hampton Lodge and it ticked all the boxes we look for - spacious, luxury surroundings with the "must have hot tub" The lodge itself is well maintained with a large open downstairs area with a well equipped kitchen, large dining table seating 8 plus 2 sofas and 2 bucket chairs in the tv area. There are even games supplied to play inside and out. The bedrooms have very comfortable beds with good quality bedding and there are lovely fluffy towels for bathing and the hot tub. Outside there is seating overlooking a field and we found that the fabulous hot tub seats 5 without being over crowded. The owners Richard and Barbara make you very welcome - you even get a superb home made cake when you arrive. We couldn't recommend this peaceful phone free haven highly enough - it's no wonder we had to wait over 12 months to book it. Personally I loved the lighting which fitted the style of the lodge perfectly. We will be going back another time.

Hampton Lodge is Situated in a very quiet rural area but close to towns and attractions.. It is very well equipped and maintained to a high standard. The owner, Barbara, is a lovely lady and gives a warm welcome on arrival. There is a complimentary sponge cake with milk, tea and coffee for you to use. We hire the lodge for a family get together and needed a lodge for 8 people. The lodge was very spacious and there was plenty of room for everyone. Before we left, Barbara revisited to ask how things were and if we could help her to improve the lodge. We could not think of anything. We all had a brilliant time. Hampton Lodge is definitely a place to revisit at some time.

"You can dream create design and build the most beautiful place in the world but it requires people to make it a reality" -Thank you Richard and Barbara. We drove down a very picturesque driveway with amazing views to be met by the stunning wow factor lodge ! ... breathtaking!! ... Both inside and out the lodge is to a very high spec every fixture and fitting fits perfectly...can't fault anything ! Barbara came over and greeted us and showed us around the lodge and how to use the most amazing hot tub.. Barbara was a very warm friendly lady and had baked the most delicious cake !! Both Barbara and Richard were the perfect hosts..on hand if needed but respected your privacy. There are an abundance of leaflets about places to visit both by car or straight from the lodges doorstep and many games and books to keep you entertained! Plus a map which was very it useful on our walks ! We loved walking to the mere down almost deserted country lanes .. we did it most days. Badminton and table tennis just for your own sole use by the side of the lodge which we used daily ! We had a very relaxing chilled most amazing week and were very sad to leave on our last day. We can't wait to return. "When you leave a beautiful place you carry it with you wherever you go"

Hampton Lodge is a stunning property, designed and finished to extremely high standards. Perfect for a family break with plenty to do to keep children & adults happy. Have badminton & table tennis tournaments, play boardgames or just relax on the south facing veranda for complete relaxation. The hot tub is a fabulous way to end the day looking out at the scenery. The lodge is extremely private and very safe for children to play outside. The kitchen is really well equipped and a great place to cook meals together as a family, there is also a large BBQ for use outside. The owners are very welcoming and make your stay perfect with a gorgeous cake waiting your arrival (it was delicious). All in all a fabulous family holiday and definitely one to visit again.

Book. Go. Enjoy. You will not be disappointed. Ideal to spend lazy days away enjoying the tranquillity of the lodge but at the same time only a short drive from places to visit. Play badminton or table tennis or just relax in the hot tub. Hire a canal boat on the Shropshire canals. Visit the Mere and The Follies. BBQ at home or walk to the local pub (Sun Inn, great food, huge portions!!). There is something for everyone!

Set in tranquil farming countryside, close to a variety of interesting places to visit and providing an outstanding level of comfort and luxury, this well provided Lodge is a wonderful place to unwind and re-charge those batteries. Barbara, who welcomes visitors with info and a delicious cake is a gem. Nothing is too much trouble for her and she fully respects your privacy but is available if needed......the perfect host. The nearest pub, a two mile walk away is a real treat with a friendly welcome and delicious meals. Chester zoo and day boat hire on the Llangollen canal were great trips out but the simple walks around local meres and rural lanes were just as much pleasure and a lot cheaper. The highlight for our grandchildren was the hot tub and surrounds of the Lodge which include a large play area. Altogether a place I would highly recommend and hope to visit again

This was the most luxurious, peaceful and comfortable place for our big family celebration. Eight adults slept well, cooked up banquets, enjoyed the hot tub, played badminton and table tennis, and filled the bottle recycling twice over. Long walks, days out and good eating at the nearest pub. Wonderfully warm welcome and attention to detail from the generous hosts. Very highly recommended indeed.

Just returned from a truly relaxing girly weekend. This accommodation lived up to all previous reviews. To the Beautiful cake on arrival and the wonderful attention to detail provided by the host Barbara. We spent a lot of time relaxing and using the hydrotherapy hot tub. The kitchen is well equipped and dishwasher a bonus for a large group. It is set exclusively on its own ensuring maximum privacy. The beds were comfy and we all enjoyed a good night's sleep. We are a group of 5 female friends who treat ourselves to a long hot tub break every November. Hampton lodge looked fabulous on the website and more than lived up to our expectations. The house is very comfortable and cosy with lots of little touches and interior design that makes it feel like a home and not a holiday let. The bedrooms are well furnished with comfy beds and plenty of storage with hanging space, if you feel like unpacking! The bathrooms are modern and clean with the option of a bath in the upstairs bathroom if that's your pleasure. We love to cook whilst we're away and the kitchen is well thought out with plenty of pots and pans are provided. The outside area is great with plenty of parking and room to spread out and play games in the warmer months. The terrace is lovely to sit out on with a fabulous view that included 2 miniature horses whilst we were there. The hot tub is very large and luxurious and well maintained. We met the owner on a couple of occasions during our stay and she was friendly and helpful. She even left us one of the nicest Victoria sponge I've ever had. We don't go out much when we're away but we did venture to Cheshire Oaks shopping for the day which was easily accessible. The stairs were quite steep to the upstairs bedroom but there was a stair gate in place and there is plenty of downstairs sleeping for children or the less mobile. The TV was modern but personally I would prefer a larger one for the size of the big open plan room as we do spend a lot of time watching films. Overall we had a really lovely break and would definitely think of returning in the future.

I booked Hampton Lodge as a surprise for my husband's 30th birthday. We had a fabulous long weekend with friends and would highly recommend it to others. The lodge was well equipped and set in beautiful surroundings. The hot tub is a real treat and there are outdoor games to keep everyone entertained. We walked to the local pub and around the mere, which was lovely and a nice way to relax. Barbara had clearly thought about assisting visitors when looking for local attractions, as the guides and maps were really useful. We felt it was the little touches like this that made such a difference. Everyone commented upon how spacious the lodge was. The large dining room table was lovely to sit around and, as we had decided to divide an evening meal up into courses, the spacious kitchen meant everyone could arrange/cook their course without it getting cramped. Barbara couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. The cake went down a storm and the milk was a lovely touch. It is clear that the owners really care about making visitors feel welcome and comfortable. I'm sure we'll find an excuse to return in the future! Thank you for a lovely weekend.

This lodge is a very high quality place. Well kitted out and with large comfortable bedrooms. The location is peaceful and has great views. The local walks down quiet (almost deserted) country lanes take you to countryside that seems to be in the middle of nowhere, yet Ellesmere is only 3 miles away. It's worth a walk to the Sun Inn for great food and good ales. Richard and Barbara (owners) are delightful; they are helpful but never intrusive. In short, we loved it!

A beautiful lodge in a beautiful countryside location, stylish and modern furnishing with a touch of the rural. Set in acres of pasture land with woodland close by, the Lodge is a peaceful getaway from it all! The Lodge was spotlessly clean on our arrival, and lacked nothing for our comfort. We loved the hot tub, and table tennis and small badminton court provided lots of fun. There is plenty of space inside and outside for eight adults, and nearby there are plenty of pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes.

We are a group of friends who get together. usually at each others houses two or three times a year. This time we thought we'd do something a little different and booked a long weekend at the Hampton Lodge. To say this exceeded all our expectations is an understatement. From the moment you drive up the new drive you can see the time and effort that has been spent in creating such a gorgeous building and setting. We were met by Barbara who was lovely and definitely a people person. She showed us around the Lodge which has all the home comforts you could ask for and a few extras to boot. Each room has it's own TV and there is internet throughout the property. The location is stunning especially in the morning when you stand looking over the green fields from the back of the lodge. The hot tub is amazing it comfortably holds 8 people and is great when you attach your phone for music while you sit in the pool with a nice glass of something. All in all this was an amazing break with great friends and the Hampton Lodge just made this break extra special. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing 5 * break in excellent surroundings. We will definitely be returning even if just for another slice of Barbara's Cake lol

It has been wonderful staying at Hampton Lodge, set within the beautiful and peaceful Shropshire countryside, you are close enough to the owners farm in-case of any problems but you are not over looked by anyone and have your own drive to come and go as you please. The lodge was perfect for us as we wanted a relaxing and peaceful getaway, with the hot tub adding that extra bit of luxury and helped us unwind after days spent walking around local villages and towns. We were made very welcome on arriving with a lovely homemade Victoria sponge, and Barbra explained all the facilities, local attractions and places to eat. We can't wait to return in the very near future and highly recommend Hampton Lodge for a relaxing get away. Also, thank you to the owners for putting several sheep in the adjacent field, as one of our group loves sheep - this kept her very happy! :-)

Spent a fantastic 4 days celebrating our daughters 21st. The lodge is perfect and has a great spacious living area which we found very good for entertaining extended family guests. The location is very quiet and surrounded by fields. Access is excellent as you drive right up the the lodge and there is parking for several cars. The hot tub was a nice feature as was the table tennis. There are sheep who come to within a few feet of the fence by the balcony to greet you each morning. The owners are very helpful and attentive to needs, always looking to ensure you have everything and asking about how to improve the stay further. All in all an excellent holiday accommodation.

This whole holiday was perfect right from the very start. As soon as we set our eyes on the lodge, we were delighted with it, as it was stunning and a little piece of heaven away from home. The service provided by the owner was impeccable and cannot be faulted in any way. The lodge was just so beautiful and impeccably designed and our every need thought of. We will be recommending to all our family and friends and we cannot wait to return!
