Built in 1780, this Grade II listed folly makes for a quirky and charm-filled base in Shropshire. From an elevated position on a rock knoll, it boasts glorious views across the countryside. It also sits within 1.75 acres of enclosed gardens and looks out over a lake. It’s a fairytale-worthy setting, perfect for romantic breaks – but it can also accommodate friends or small families with older children. You can look forward to a rather grand drawing room, as well as the original quarry tiles in the cosy kitchen. When the season is right, you can even pick your own fruit from the trees – however you spend your stay, it’s sure to be memorable.
Home truths: *This home is accessed via a private road. We recommend bringing a car to get the most out of your stay. There’s off-road parking for up to four cars – please note that there are twenty-four steps from the car park to the front door.
*Children over the age of ten are welcome here, but younger children and babies cannot be accommodated.
*There are two ground-floor bedrooms and a shower room here. These bedrooms can accommodate double beds but are better suited to single occupancy as they’re on the smaller side. The rest of the home is accessed via a steep spiral staircase so this home may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility.
*The lake is fished by a private fishing syndicate so is not available for guest use.
