The cottage needs a bit of work on the windows as they are hard to close.. The shower is very small and nothing to hold on to. The kitchen needs better cutlery i.e. scissors and the tin opener is really hard to use. The bed was very comfy and so was the couch. It was a shame that there was builders in the garden all week, so we cloud not use the outside seating area most of the week. The entrance is very very tight to get out of, it is right on to a very busy road. The plus side are the owners who are very nice and helpful and also being able to use the buses from just up the street. Very good area to visit as the public transport to all areas are very good. Shame there was no pubs for a meal near by. But we really enjoyed our week there.

Lovely cottage! I felt so relaxed and welcome. The owners were so welcome and friendly. The cottage is clean and comfortable and atmospheric. Perfect for a retreat. Beautiful big garden.

For us, the mattress was too soft.. But have recommended the property to several friends as, with that one exception, it's beautiful and ideal for touring that part of Kent. The mattress is a purely individual matter and what suits one wont suit another!

The cottage was situated in between houses which front directly onto the Main Street.. This makes access and exit a bit difficult. The people were pleasant and had left milk etc for us on arrival. The cottage itself was very gloomy, due to the size of the windows and the aspect of the property. The shower was a little bijou, but it worked well. There were no curtains just Venetian blinds, which gave a stark quality. The bed was comfortable. I think the property could do with a lick of paint inside particularly around the windows. Herne is well positioned to visit several interesting places.

The front door was extremely insecure, no bolts on inside, there was such a large cut out gap on the frame where the latch fitted- door could have been opened from the outside with a screwdriver in two seconds, couldn’t lock door from inside as cellotape had been stuck over it.. There was a large crack on the underside of the toilet seat -must have been like that for a while as it was discoloured, as was the sealant around the bottom of the toilet. Also the DVD player didn’t work wouldn’t play any of the films, there’s or our own.

The old dairy was very comfortable and the couple that own it are very nice people they left a lovely welcoming touch for us as in some fresh flowers and fresh cream cakes ..

It was a comfortable stay with all the things we needed.. The shower was a little tricky being quite small with nowhere to put your soap etc, but the bed was super comfortable and the electric wall heaters warmed up the cottage very quickly when we arrived. We were welcomed and shown where to park. Getting back out on to the main road can be tricky - we were very grateful for the mirror to see what was coming!

The dairy is a great place to stay, you can reach anywhere you wish to go, without driving to far.. can get to anywhere if you want to use the buses, having a bus pass is great, and a very good service, right outside the dairy. hearne bay is really nice, broadstairs, and canterbury. the owners are really nice, and the children, and 2 chickens. we had a really good time.

The bus service is brilliant with a bus every 15 minutes.. The cottage is a bit on the dark side and you need the door open to get enough light in. The television sound control is a bit low and if the kettle was boiling you could not hear the television.

Lovely touches with milk and cream scones in fridge and fresh flowers in living area.. Chose the coldest March to visit but Old Dairy warm and comfortable. Great patio area in large garden with many birds, squirrels and wonderful stars on a clear night. Lady of the house greeted us with good advice on local area. Would recommend wholeheartedly

We had a comfortable stay.. It is easy to visit all the local attractions and towns from the Old Dairy. I would certainly visit Kent again as there is so much to do. The old dairy met our expectations.

Facilities - only reason for reduced score was lack of washing machine and bath (and the shower was slightly temperamental) - but they did offer a laundry service :-) Location - only reason for reduced score was lack of pavement just outside the property, which made guiding my (blind) partner safely rather nerve-wracking, plus the village shop (only one, I think) REALLY didn't have much good stuff in it, so getting any provisions involved a car trip, which we didn't envisage.. .but that's nobody's fault. :-) Lastly, I missed seeing the "welcome folder" with all the details for the first half of our stay. Once found, it was very helpful - but can I suggest it's left on the coffee table, where it'd be more obvious? These are all minor points, though - only made as I believe (hope) that feedback is helpful.. The place was lovely and welcoming and very comfortable! :-) Regarding publishing this, you can if you want to.. and feel free to edit if needed. I wouldn't PARTICULARLY like you to, but I don't mind.

We used this place as a base to go out on day and half day trips arourd Kent. The old dairy was just right for the two of us,we used the decked area to sit out on for meals and just to relax. The accomodation was very clean and well equipped for two people. The village shop has the basics (wine, food, papers ETC).There are two pubs in the village, neither do food .We found some good places to eat in Herne bay and Whitstable. We used the bus to go to Canterburry and back, didn,t cost very much more than the car park would have cost for the day. Kent has lots of small town that are full of history ,well worth a visit, we intend to use the old dairy again
