Downicary Chapel Stable is a detached barn conversion in Downicary, a mile and a half from the village of St Giles-on-the-Heath. The cottage has a double and a bathroom upstairs, and downstairs is a twin room, a kitchen and a sitting room with dining area and woodburner. Outside is off road parking for one car, and an open lawned area with patio and furniture. Downicary Chapel Stable is in an ideal location for touring, as it is on the Devon/Cornwall border and within easy reach of the coast, country walks, the Eden Project, NT properties and more.

Accomodation Details
Two bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x ground floor twin (zip/link, can be double on request). Bathroom with bath, hand-held shower, basin and WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburner.

Area
The town of Launceston, situated on the Devon and Cornwall border, has wonderful architecture, including some fine Georgian buildings in the central square and is dominated by the ruins of a Norman castle sitting high above the town. Visit the Tamar Otter Park just 3 miles away or take a trip on the steam train from Launceston through the beautiful Kensey Valley on a 5 mile round trip. Launceston is within driving distance of the seaside resorts of Bude and Padstow as well as the stunning Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor. A superb base for exploring Cornwall and Devon.

Region
Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

We had a fabulous weekend away with the dogs at this beautiful house.. It was very well equipped, from shopping bags to use for the supermarket to a spare dog water bowl if you had forgotten and everything in between. It's been decorated to a very high standard and was very comfortable. It's in a great location, lovely and quiet and beautiful views from the garden and the local pub was very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

Our only issue was that we arrived at 3pm and the cleaning was still being carried out, we had to wait 10 minutes before they were complete.. Black rubbish bags were left outside the property for the whole duration of our stay.

An amazing cottage in the middle of nowhere! !! Fantastic pub and little convenience store a mile or so up the rd. everyone in the pub very welcoming and friendly. The cottage is dog friendly although you cannot let them straight out into the garden from the house. You need to walk them in on a lead ( mine is a pup so older dogs may be fine) Also be aware there are sheep in the field next door which is so lovely but there is only a wire fence between us which Hazel (my pup) could get under so had to be on a lead in the garden. Shower is a Little temperamental!!! All this said, we had a beautiful week, we had amazing weather for February. Beautiful widemouth beach is dog friendly with a lovely cafe. Port Isaac and Boscastle are a must to visit. All in all a lovely place. Perfect cottage.

A beautiful and comfortable cottage, well equipped and maintained to a high standard.. Scrupulously clean and the perfect base for exploring North Cornwall and Devon. Tranquil surroundings but still close enough to civilization to meet your practical needs. A great holiday home for humans and hounds alike. This little beaut is highly recommended

Sykes were very helpful when there was an issue.. The gravel is too deep on the driveway some drivers won’t be able to get onto it. The garden is totally waterlogged, making it mostly unusable, don’t know if a channel could be dug? I had to pick up quite a lot of other people’s Dog’s poo! Tin opener doesn’t work well! Lovely cottage, great location.
