The Annexe, a ground-floor cottage, consists of a studio-style layout including a super-king-size bed, a kitchen with an electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge with ice box, kettle, toaster, a dining area seating two, a sitting area with TV and sofa bed. There is also a bathroom with bath, shower over, basin, and WC. Outside, there is a front private patio with furniture, a front lawn area, and ample private, off-road parking. Two well-behaved pet welcome, but sorry, no smoking. Within 1.2 miles, you will find a shop, ad within 1.5 miles, a pub. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. Escape to The Annexe, the perfect base for exploring the Dartmoor National Park. Note: Check-in from 5:00pm, check-out by 9:30am. Note: Sofa bed is for flexible sleeping arrangements only.

Area
Sourton Down is a small hamlet resting on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. There is a Shell garage which serves takeaway food and sells essentials, there is also the The Pump & Pedal pub and a bike hire shop. The nearby town of Okehampton is home to the ruins of a medieval castle which offers tours, walking paths & picnic spots with gorgeous flowers, as well as the Museum of Dartmoor Life which is set in a quaint 19th century mill. There is also a golf club, a train station and ample shops, bars and eateries which make for a great day out. Nearby Meldon offers a fascinating quarry, viaduct and reservoir and good paths up to Yes Tor. Sourton Down offers easy access to the Black-a-Tor hiking area, and being based between two A-roads, there is also great access to the rest of Devon via car. Also worth the visit is the Saxton town of Lydford, which has lots of history; from ruins of an English Heritage castle to the National Trust Lydford Gorge which offers woodlands trails and a waterfall.

Region
Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
