Area
Just five miles from Matlock, in the tranquil Amber Valley, is the little, rural community of Ashover. The village is home to a number of fine pubs, notably the Crispin Inn, one of the Peak District's oldest, and The Old Poets' Corner, which serves locally brewed Ashover ales. Located in the centre of the town, Hall Leys Park offers a magnificent location for a variety of leisure activities like bowling, tennis, and boating. The county town of Matlock, an ex-spa town, has a number of superb dining establishments, nice shopping, and an intriguing museum. With its owl maze, water gardens, natural paths, exhilarating rides, and cable car flights over the picturesque Matlock Gorge, Gulliver's Kingdom is a wonderful place to spend the day. Visit the exquisite Chatsworth House and Hardwick Hall, where the Cavendish family's history began, or explore the charming market town of Bakewell, which is well-known for its Bakewell pudding. You can also follow the High Peak Cycle Trail. There is undoubtedly a lot to see and do in this fantastic place.
