Area The small village of Rogart lies in the county of Sutherland in the Scottish Highlands. The village is known for once being the home to Major Andrew MacDonald, who fought into the French and Indian War. The village is also home to the Rogart Railway station, which has become something of an informal outdoor museum of railway memorabilia. Within the village, there is a convenience store, petrol station, a Parish church and a traditional Scottish pub. The nearby coastal village of Golspie is well worth a visit, offering a long sandy beach, which attracts many visitors in all weather conditions, along with a thriving high street lined with independent businesses, restaurants, pubs and cafés. Rogart makes a charming base for touring this beautiful part of Scotland.
Region Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.
