We really enjoyed are stay at the drummer cottage the pictures on sykes need updating as they dont do it justice the living room has had a makeover and i wish i could have the bath at home ha .. It had everything you needed ample parking cafe/pub on site a park 2mins walk away 10 min walk to such a beautiful beach . Id actually consider moving there it was so lovely and peaceful. my little girl loved her holiday and what made it perfect everything was on one level no stairs to worry about. 10 min drive to big asda and playgym called play factory my little girl loved it there . 10mins to saltburn lovely place. if you love nice food try elerby inn best food ever also try ship inn at saltburn great base to stay for visting whitby and 1hr drive to Scarborough. If i had to nit pick at anything was the bed not been so comfy but that could just be down to me and wouldnt put me of returning. We are looking at booking again for next year we enjoyed it that much

We have just returned from a week at this cottage and it was superb. The location is great and the cottage is modern with everything you need for a great stay. It is not clear in the pictures but the garden is enclosed too which is handy as we had 2 small dogs. The cottage was spotless for our arrival and we had zero noise from any neighbours who were all very friendly. The restaurant/bar is about 20 yards away and was great for sitting in or takeaways and there was zero noise either from there at night. Skinningrove is a lovely village and the beach is dog friendly and stunning too. Would highly recommend this cottage and we will be back I'm sure

This cottage is the second one of three in the complex that we have stayed in and like the other it is of the same high standard.. All equipment is up to date, functional and clean, and if anything does go wrong the owner lives on site so able rectify issues immediately. The area is also great for seeing everything that this part of the country offers. We dined at the KASKANE restaurant every evening where you can expect great food and the very best of service all at very reasonable prices, also they are very dog friendly. A piece of advice here is book in as it is very busy sometimes. We will definitely return to any of these cottages as we know their high standards and hospitality.

Lovely cottage clean and every thing you need for a relaxing holiday. But we didn't have a quiet relaxing holiday. We had to listen to music from the neighbours and if you like sitting with a glass of wine with washing surrounding you this is the place to stay as well as dogs on both sides. We went aware that the cottages on each side were nt holiday lets we only stayed one night and came home early for some peace

April 2014
An absolutely amazingly well equipped cottage in an ideal location for peace and quiet.. I was astounded by the standard and cleanliness - it was truly spotless. Everything you could possibly need was available. The beaches nearby were ideal for morning walks with my dog and the nearby towns and villages were delightful. I would recommend the walk to Saltburn along the cliff tops and also visiting Sandsend beach which is gorgeous. The Wits End café welcomes dogs and is well worth a visit. Lovely friendly welcome at the cottage and all the people we met whilst around and about were friendly too. We're definitely hoping for a return visit and would highly recommend, although with some reluctance as don't want it to get booked so we can't go!

We had three wonderfully relaxing weeks in Drummer, from December 21 to January 12, and we just can't thank the family enough for their gracious welcome and hospitality. A lot of considerate thought has gone into furnishing this beautiful 2 bedroom cottage, from the high quality furniture, bedding, kitchen equipment and general decor, to an absolute must for those dark winter nights - a large flat screen TV with Freeview/Freesat & a DVD player. In addition to the much appreciated and tasty welcome pack in the fridge, the fully decorated 7 foot Christmas tree in the living room was a delightful welcoming touch. Everything you could possibly need or want was thoughtfully & tastefully provided, whether it be in the living room, bedrooms, kitchen (with the breakfast bar), bathroom (with the power shower), or the front hall. All in all, it was a lovely relaxing 3 weeks away from our usual hustle and bustle, and we highly recommended two bar/restaurants for a great night's dining out. The Water Wheel at the edge of Liverton, and the Tiger Inn in Easington, gave us 2 nights to remember, with outstanding food and service, and very important to visitors - a real good chin-wag with the folk behind, and in front of the bar! Our sincerest thanks to all the Robinson family involved in making us feel so much at home, and for their hospitality and kindness, and we will definitely be coming back to the Drummer.

This was our 3rd year of booking a holiday cottage with Sykes cottages. Drummer Cottage will now be our first choice in that area. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner and the locals; great for anybody with or without a dog. We did not know what to expect with the cottage being next to an old ironstone mine with museum. The cottage is perfect inside and out with a walk down to a small beach and a larger expanse of sand a little further.
