me and my wife and 2 kids stayed here for 4 nights early September. when we arrived the cleaners hadn't quite finished yet so we popped to the supermarket to stock up on a few bits. when we returned and opened the door we were so pleased with the place, and it was so clean. it was the perfect place for us, it had everything we needed including a high chair and travel cot for our baby which were a huge help. the kitchen was spotless and all appliances were in great condition. decent parking space just outside too. supermarket about 7 mins drive away in kendal. plenty of restaurants and takeaways about 8 minute drive away in Milnthorpe. one tip for visitors is to be extra careful when pulling out of the little road onto the main road as cars come flying round the corner so get your windows down and listen for oncoming traffic. all in all I couldn't of been happier with this place, 20 mins from windermere and the kirkstone pass which is a stunning drive through the mountains. would 100% stay here again and for longer next time.

Lets get the one negative thing out of the way.. Arrived at Crosslands at 15.00 as per Sykes documentation for earliest arrival. Let ourselves in.All looked great. A cleaner arrived on the doorstep telling us we can not gain entry till 17.00?? Showed him my documentation and was then involved in a conversation to his office to confirm our arrival time. This conversation should not have been held in front of a Sykes client. Positive points about location and property. Everything. Right on the river. Lovely sound of running water. Small decking at the rear above the river. Field at bottom of lanre to let your 4 legged friend off for a run. Apartment was very clean and bigger than two of us needed. Ideal for four. The log burner was a God send at night. Logs readily available outside in store. Dave who lives over the lane gave us firelighters and a lighter to start the fire. Thanks Dave. We found it easy to travel around from the property. Lovel bakers just up the road. Had a great six days weather wise. Would definitely go again. Thank you

We enjoyed our stay at Crooklands House apartment 3.. It was very comfortable and there was everything there we needed. Unfortunately we did have a problem with the heating. The radiators didn't come on when they were supposed to. We rang the site manager, she sent someone to look at the boiler settings. He came twice but didn't solve the problem. We decided to use the log burner because we were feeling cold. We found it quite difficult to get going. The logs were stored in a container outside. There was nothing to put them in, so it meant we had to go out a number of times to get more logs. If the problems were sorted out, I would recommend the apartment as a lovely place to stay.

Stayed for a week July 18th to 25th. My wife and I had the ground floor (3) and my daughter and family first floor (2). Absolutely perfect for all our needs. Beautifully presented and everything you would need is provided. Perfect spot for all parts of the Lake District.

We had trouble with the water flow for a few days and the shower wouldn’t work as z consequence.. The radiator in the bathroom was too hot to even touch and there was no radiator in the double bedroom. Facilities were very basic. Fire would not stay lit.

Cottage ok on first glance.. But in desperate need of TLC in certain areas, chipped plaster and dirty sills and paintwork in several areas. Strong smell of damp in second bedroom.Lovely location and handy for access to Kendal and lake district.Served a purpose with all that was needed for a breakaway.Could have real potential with the necessary work done...

We had a very good break overall.. Excellent location for exploring the area. Everything described was accurate. We'd suggest provision of more cutlery and crockery to enable dishwasher to be run full and therefore be more environmentally friendly. One plate was chipped we discovered on arrival and needed to be replaced.

The cottage is well located in a quiet hamlet with a nice pub at the end of the lane.. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay and is clean and tidy. It is within easy driving reach to all the lakes but without being in the tourist mayhem. We had a lovely break and would definitely go back.

What a little very apartment.. Just right for me and my husband and our Dog. My sister and brother in law also joined us for a couple of nights with their 9 month old. The property was spotless and contact with people who could help exceptional. It was a great location for the southern lakes and Yorkshire Dales. Neighbouring hotel was OK for a drink but not dog friendly. It would be useful to have some info on dog friendly pubs nearby. Check out the Low Sizergh Barn Farm Shop and Cafe for amazing food!!

Crooklands House 3 is a spacious 2 bedroom apartment in an old converted Bobbin Mill and has been well fitted out with furniture and fittings that made our stay very comfortable.. We had a table and chairs on the sunny patio outside our door, and at the rear of the property the steps look over the river. There is an allocated undercover parking space. We enjoyed walks by the canal, visits to the Lakes and the Yorkshire Dales, chips at Arnside and a pleasant meal at No 17 restaurant in Milnthorpe. There's a nice bakery and shop in Endmoor and the apartment is convenient for Kendal.

A beautiful ground floor apartment with everything needed for 4 people.. It is also fitted out to suit disabled visitors. In the coldest week of winter we were warm and cosy and we enjoyed the woodburner stove on 3 nights. The kitchen has absolutely every piece of equipment necessary to cook your own meals and the wetroom shower was excellent. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the whole apartment was exceptionally clean. Good TV and WiFi were also appreciated. The local hotel is very nice and welcoming and the local petrol station is close by. The apartment is really handy for the M6 and we spent a lovely week touring the Lake District and Yorkshire. The snow made everywhere look really stunning. I highly recommend this apartment and the area. Thank you for a wonderful break.

This is a lovely apartment set in a beautiful part of the Lake District.. It is set in a good location just off the M6 and is a good base for visiting other parts of the Lake District. The hotel situated 2 minutes walk from the apartment served fantastic food. The locals were very friendly too. The only negative part was the weather, but that’s a chance you take when booking over the new year period.

We booked both Crooklands House 2 and Crooklands House 3 for a family vacation and we left wanting to extend our vacation. Set in the countryside but easily accessible Crooklands House is just beautiful from the moment you are welcomed into the stunningly spacious apartment's with their impressive architectural features of the original mill building to the gorgeous rooms. Each apartment occupied an entire floor. At the back of both apartments, you overlook the river and beyond this are lush green fields. There is a seated area here just by the river but don't worry, it is child friendly as there are wooden balustrades which still allow you to enjoy the views of the river and rural countryside beyond. To the front of the property, as we had also rented apartment 3, we enjoyed the courtyard. There is however also a communal lawned area with seating. This was great for a BBQ. The apartments and in fact the whole house, were totally immaculate and very tastefully appointed and supplied with everything one could need. There was a washing machine in both apartments which does take a good load.. very handy for when the little ones have been to the beaches nearby or back from their long walks. There are plenty of kitchen utensils, from a masher to a milk frother as well as pots and pans. The beds in each apartment were very comfortable and the rooms cosily warm. In Crooklands House 2 my two boys slept in the bunk beds provided. These too were very comfortable and as a parent, I can confirm that they are very secure and I had peace of mind that the boys were safe. The bathrooms have a contemporary feel and we were never short of towels or hot water. There is a garage nearby as well as a local village shop but we shopped at the local supermarket which was a 5 min drive so everything is conveniently located. The only downside was that we were only there for 5 nights....it was a really super relaxing and peaceful base for touring the Lakes. My family and I would really really highly recommend staying at any of the apartments at Crooklands House, you wont leave disappointed. As we visit the Lakes annually we have stayed at other venues and locations but this is by far the best... we will be back.
