Another excellent week in this lovely cottage with all mod cons.. A great location to explore Crinan,Argyll & the isles. Great facilities to come back to and relax, including a peaceful garden and quiet 10min stroll by the canal to Cairnbaan Hotel for a local ale or 2.

Perfect location for a weekend family break in a beautiful part of Scotland.. Cottage is really cosy and with everything we need. Log burner was great for warming us up after the "slightly damp" west coast weather.

This cottage is in Cairnbaan, a small village on the Crinan Canal about three miles from Lochgilphead.. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything anyone could want, including a log fire if the evenings are cold. Although Cairnbaan is small with just a pub (which does excellent meals). there are so many things to do in the area. Every day was filled with trips out to historical sights and museums, interesting towns, and excellent pubs and restaurants. The walking was wonderful, both on the canal and on the Kintyre Way and not a midge was seen all week! Altogether a wonderful trip.

The cottage was lovely, clean, comfortable and well equipped.. The owner was very helpful and provided us with lots of useful information and web links which enabled us to plan activities and book them easily. There is so much to do and see locally and everyone was really friendly. We had a great week, many walks (we saw a beaver) boat trips (seals, eagles and the whirlpool) visited ancient sites and the Kilmartin museum but also enjoyed just chilling out at the cottage, cooking, reading or watching the boats navigating the canal. The lads were pleased the WiFi was there to keep in touch with friends but most of the time we were doing things together which is what a family holiday is all about. The whole area is full of beautiful places and interesting things to do and see. Most of it totally free. We came home refreshed with tales to tell.

we new the area before we visited and we were not disappointed the cottage is simple but very clean and well stocked, pleasant view to the front and parking is a short walk away at the end of the row. we took our bikes and found a storage shed provided. and fantastic cycle routs in all directions. Nice wood burning stove we purchased extra coal and logs from the local petrol station, found several good places to eat in town and in Crinan. Cottage was very good value for money and the owners were very helpful and gave good advise about local area would recommend for couples or small family.

The weather was really very bad indeed, so it was a good excuse to relax, do the crossword, watch box sets etc. in front of a lovely wood burning stove, enjoying the paintings. Being right beside the canal was great, and we did manage one very windy walk along its banks. Lunch at the Crinan Hotel was a great treat and view from the Gallery Bar was outstanding.

The holiday was absolutely fantastic, with lots to see and do in one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland. The cottage itself is in the most idyllic of settings and even the lesser active out there would love this place with its easy access and low level walks on the banks of the Crinan canal.

This is a very pretty and comfortable cottage in a great location right on the Crinan Canal. The area is extremely interesting and there are many places to visit that show Scotland's ancient history. Kilmartin was very good in particular and only down the road. We would definitely recommend a stay here and we hope to come back soon.

Scottish scenery is changeable from region to region. This part tends to be more green and lush. Different types of walks which suits the less adventurous walker and of course the area is steeped in history and archaeology. Cottage owner was informative and helpful and as she lived locally could be contacted easily if required.
