This was my second visit to the Courtyard Cottage and it still remains my favourite.. The privacy, comfort, and character of the cottage is matched by the owners, Adrian and Mark. They are there if you need them and make you very welcome. The attention to detail is 100%. The changes they have made to the grounds and the addition of The Bothy, the third holiday cottage is very exciting. I sincerely hope I am able to make it my third holiday stay in the very near future.

Courtyard Cottage always exceeds our expectations.. This is our third visit in this beautiful cottage, and as always it was a perfect experience. Our hosts are second to none, they do everything they can to help us have a perfect holiday, creating a lovely friendly environment . The welcome pack is a great beginning to our visit, without a worry about making that tea or coffee, when arriving after a long journey. A walk around the grounds on a evening is always something to enjoy, finding something different each time, with plenty of wild life to see. Shropshire is a beautiful county, with so many interesting places to visit, always knowing Courtyard Cottage is waiting to welcome us back. We hope to make our fourth visit. very soon.

Courtyard cottage was lovely with the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in.. The courtyard was a flower filled sun trap, very pleasant and peaceful to sit out in. The gardens were beautiful and a credit to the very hard working gardeners. A lovely peaceful haven to relax and rest. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

This is a wonderful cottage that feels more like home than a holiday let.. Everything you need is included and the building is fascinating. We were warmly welcomed by the owners and a great welcome pack was in the kitchen. The grounds to Meeson Hall are beautiful and although in a secluded location it's an easy drive to the main roads. We had a very relaxed few days and will certainly return.

August 2017
We are just home after a week staying at the beautiful Courtyard Cottage, and have to say that this was definitely the best cottage holiday we have ever had.. The cottage is beautifully furnished and full of character, with everything we needed to ensure a great stay. From the welcome pack of bread, home-made plum jam, eggs and milk, to the super comfy beds (first time I've stayed in any cottage when the bed was more comfortable than the one at home!), to the glorious courtyard with its riot of colours, it was perfect. Mark and Adrian were very welcoming and unobtrusive, and kindly gave us a tour of the Meeson Hall, which was amazing. The peace and tranquility of Courtyard Cottage made this a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday for us all, and the wi-fi is also very good, which kept my 14 year old happy! There is also a lot to do in the area, and we enjoyed trips to Ironbridge, historic Shrewsbury and our particular favourite trip was to Hawkstone Follies (which did leave us with rather sore feet, but was well worth it). A perfect cottage and perfect holiday, we would thoroughly recommend Courtyard Cottage to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing break!

We had visited this cottage before, and our return confirmed all our memories.. A spacious and unique property adjoining a hotel, but with a high level of privacy. Kind hosts who provided a welcome pack and who ensured that we were well informed re facilities. We had access to a colourful courtyard full of flowers and packed with interesting features, plus access to the extensive grounds. We felt relaxed and at home, and had easy access to the surrounding area and places of interest. Lovely!

June 2017
We were warmly welcomed by Mark & Adrian.. They kindly showed us through their beautiful hotel before showing us to our accommodation. It is such a beautiful 17C property. Our accommodation opened out onto a flower filled courtyard. It had everything we could wish for, including a lovely welcoming gift basket. We loved returning to the quietness of the place and enjoyed the wildlife surrounding us. Would definitely return.

April 2017
We came across Sykes by enquiring at Holiday Lettings.. Their involvement was limited to that of any portal. The property was something else again! SUPERB! It was infinitely more than we expected because the listing details failed to do it justice. The way that modern amenities had been built into such an old building was masterful. That the building has been recovered from being derelict by the present owners is a testament to their vision, imagination, sense of style etc etc etc!! Its position away in the country but within easy reach of Market Drayton, Newport and Telford is excellent as well as beautiful. So relaxing. With a big comfy bed - it is impossible not to enjoy. A walk around the gardens is well worthwhile as is a visit inside the tulip tree. Because our neice stayed in the B&B we were treated to a tour of the Hall itself which is another world again. The Owners were perfect hosts and extremely attentive - which we appreciated greatly. We would love to visit again. John & Alex Whittaker. After five years in New Zealand en route to a new life in beautiful Shropshire.

April 2017
I was surprised not to find any hand soap in the property.. If I had not brought some special hand cleaner that we could all use I would have to make a special trip to buy some. I have never stayed anywhere without soap before. It was great to have the wood burner logs included. I would have liked a couple of serving dishes and spoons but we coped well enough without.

This is an outstanding property in a lovely location.. Very clean and comfortable accommodation which had a lovely atomsphere. Original features abound. We would love to visit again. The owners are friendly and accessible and showed us round the other properties on site and the Hall. These are different, quirky due to the age of the buildings, tastefully and individually designed. Highly recommended.

We booked Courtyard cottage as a close friend had stayed and loved it. The cottage did not disappoint at all and we had a really enjoyable stay. The Courtyard setting of the cottage, attached to a beautiful country house hotel was so lovely. The owners Mark and Adrian gave us a very warm welcome and there was a welcome pack of essential food all set out for us. The cottage was well equipped and very well appointed and had everything we needed. It was a beautifully renovated historic building and was ideally located for sightseeing in this very interesting area. Would recommend Courtyard cottage to anyone wanting a get away from it all and who appreciates their home comforts whilst on holiday in an area with such a lot to see and do even in winter.
Mrs Terry

April 2016
The cottage is very welcoming and full of character, with good size rooms and a very relaxed feel. It was absolutely spotless with everything you needed to cater for yourself while you are on holiday. The owners are so helpful and on hand if you need anything, we were made to feel very welcome. We especially liked having a walk in wardrobe in the bedroom with room to store cases and bags. It makes a wonderful base for a holiday with freedom to walk around the grounds. Really must praise the owners for creating something special. There was plenty of parking space and a variety of places to visit. The best place we have ever stayed.

All the good reviews are accurate. There is so much you can write to praise not only the cottage but the lovely owners who leave nothing to chance to make sure you enjoy your stay. I would like to mention Sue the housekeeper too. The cottage is a haven of peace and lovely to come back to when you have been to the surrounding places. There was a lovely welcome pack of goodies, super comfortable bed with the added bonus of a walk in wardrobe so you could tuck your cases away. The lounge is beautiful and compliments Meeson Hall. Ample space everywhere with a kitchen that has everything you need for your holiday. There are plenty of places to eat nearby but we loved the atmosphere of the cottage so cooked for ourselves. Everything was spotless and you just felt very relaxed while you were there. We didn't need to light the wood burner but you can just help yourself to more logs once your supply had run out. If you want a truly relaxing holiday then this is the place to stay. Well done and thank you Adrian and Mark, you have achieved something very special

April 2016
There is nothing I can fault about this property. It is in beautiful condition with many thoughtful touches. The gardens are lovely and the sense of history is everywhere; it is impossible to tell what century you are in when you look out of any of the windows. The owners warmth and genuine manner is terrific and made the whole vacation even more special.
Mrs Pye
March 2016
We have stayed at some fine cottages, but this topped the lot! It had everything you could imagine. The cottage was the right amount of cosy but still spacious. It was beautifully decorated to feel rustic and authentic with lots of antiques and character and yet without being old and dated. In the kitchen, drawers were filled with many extras, all the conveniences of home, which so many places lack. The grounds are beautiful, many strolls and more adventurous hikes on the doorstep. Plenty of attractions to keep you busy, but you will find it hard to tear yourself away from the property. The icing on the cake though are the owners. You can see that they have taken a lot of time and care to make everything perfect. We do a lot of research picking the right cottage for a lovely stay away, this one is something really special.
Mrs Long
March 2016
A fantastic cottage, like waking up in your own well appointed piece of history. The owners are brilliant hosts, their enthusiasm for their house and the area adds a whole new dimension to the holiday - attentive but not intrusive. If you can find any availability in the already booking up calendar - go!

The building is gorgeous, old and full of character, totally refurbished to a high standard and modernised where it matters. The setting is very private with off road parking and is very relaxing. It felt like our home whilst we were there. It was cosy and warm and wood burner was great. The owners are really lovely people. We love it here, this was our second visit.

February 2016
This is a great cottage, in a wonderful location, set in the very nice grounds of Meeson Hall. Our welcome was great, the owners are very welcoming and happy to help answering any questions and offering advice on things to do in the area. The cottage itself is warm (the log fire was lit for our arrival) cosy, clean and very well presented. We highly recommend this cottage to relax, get away from it all in a tranquil comfortable location that's in a good location to access Shrewsbury, Lornbridge and other interesting sites such as Stokesay Castle or Ludlow markets.

This was the most delightful cottage that we have ever stayed in, and that's in about 40 years of using self-catering cottages. We were given a warm welcome, an excellent and were made to feel at home. The setting is beautiful, the cottage has been beautifully restored and is very comfortable.

We chanced upon a cancellation for our stay. We couldn't quite believe our luck! The property is beautiful and the owners obviously wanted us to have a great time which meant we were very well looked after. We arrived late after a gruesome road trip and found a farm shop in the village who sold everything we needed for a steak dinner except wine - and our fab hosts provided that! It is so lovely to be able to walk in the grounds (the grass is so soft it had to be barefoot!) We fed the chickens and were given a tour of the main Hall which has been lovingly restored and is a haven of genteel living! It is an ideal location for lots of visits like the Ironbridge museums, Hawkstone Follies and the RAF museum ar Cosford.

The hosts were welcoming and so friendly we appreciated the lovely welcome pack with homemade jam which was so delicious we had to buy more to take home. The beds were so comfortable we didn't want to get up in the mornings. This is such a peaceful and tranquil location with so much to see and do if you want to. Everything was provided for a comfortable stay a home from home. We booked this as a birthday surprise for my mum and she was absolutely delighted. We had a great week away made so much more enjoyable by our stay in Courtyard Cottage. A big thank you to the lovely hosts.

The care and attention to detail of the renovation of the cottage coupled with all mod cons and comfort was amazing. The colourful and sheltered courtyard surrounded by magnificent grounds was a haven of peace. The welcome by the owners and tour of the cottage made us feel immediately at home. We particularly enjoyed learning about the history of the hall and buildings. Nothing was too much trouble.

Certainly the best appointed cottage we have ever stayed in. Really sympathetically restored. The grounds are very grand and the hosts are two of the most genuine chaps we've had the pleasure to meet. We all feel well rested and the kids loved it. We had an amazing weekend at Meeson cottage. It was our wedding anniversary and we were spoilt with a bottle of bubbly on arrival! A beautiful welcome pack of goodies was there as well with freshly laid eggs, fresh bread and the most delicious home made Jam. The cottage itself is gorgeous. The pictures do not do it justice. The log burner was wonderful on the cold winter nights too. The owners were so helpful and welcoming. We even got a guided tour of their amazing home. We would recommend this place to everybody wanting a romantic get away. We hope to be back again soon . Oh and the recommended Indian restaurant in the next village was fab! Thanks for a lovely weekend.

The cottage was fabulous, very cosy and comfortable. The photos on the site don't do it justice. The grounds were beautiful. The owners were so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble - they had a great knowledge of the history of the house, which was really interesting. The welcome pack was very thoughtful and much appreciated. Overall a very tranquil and relaxing place to visit.

February 2015
We chose Courtyard Cottage after viewing it on line and after reading the excellent reviews. The cottage was certainly 5 star the cottage is attached to the owners property which is a listed house in lovely gardens. We have traveled extensively in Austria and Switzerland and it was certainly on par with the hotels which have very high standards. The cottage is for three people, so there was my husband and myself and my mother in law. We had plenty of space and the owners had thought of everything we needed. We had a basket on arrival of bread, milk, eggs (from their own chickens) and their home made jam which was excellent. With the month being February it was very cold but on arrival Mark had lit a lovely log fire to welcome us. Courtyard cottage is indeed one of the loveliest ,homely peaceful cottages in the Shropshire countryside. Thoroughly recommended! The owners Mark and Adrian are excellent hosts.(Adrian's jam was fab)

February 2015
We stayed at Courtyard Cottage for 3 fantastic nights. What a find, it is a two bedroom cottage that sleeps 3, it has an ensuite on the master bedroom and a family bathroom. it is fully fitted with everything that you need for your stay and the owners Mark and Adrian even make sure you have all the essentials to start your stay, bread, milk, home made jam and free range eggs etc. The cottage is straight off a chocolate box, all exposed beams, log burner, the most luxurious and comfortable bed and first floor gallery overlooking the lounge area.It is beautiful and there is a never ending supply of logs and coal for the fire. You are free to roam the estate as you please and the owners also showed us around the main house which is stunning and will also soon be available for bed and breakfast. We had a perfect weekend here, it was very quiet and relaxing but also an ideal base to visit Ludlow, Ironbridge etc. If you are looking for a completely stress free weekend or longer break then this is definatly the place, we have already rebooked for later in the year.

The warm welcome from the owners and the perfect setting for Christmas with ideal surroundings, a walk to the pub at Tibberton for lunch and a walk back to a cosy log fire made it a very special venue. The quiet and darkness and comfortable bed ensured a good nights sleep. It was especially good for us as we have family nearby who were able to visit us and we could visit them.

A warm welcome was extended by the owners of the cottage. It had a very comfortable bed and the wood burner was laid out ready to just light - little touches which made for a very comfortable holiday. Can't fault the cottage. Owners were really friendly. Wish we could have stayed longer. Lots to do in the area and the locals were very friendly.

The peace and quiet of a relatively isolated cottage in the countryside. The privilege of walking the large garden and grounds of the historic Hall. Cosy and aesthetically pleasing accommodation. There was central heating plus the wood-burner within well insulated walls and roof.

An absolutely charming cottage set in the delightful and impressive grounds of Meeson Hall. It was quiet, serene, cosy, very comfortable and the wood burning stove was an absolute pussy-cat to use and control. The owners made us so welcome with a welcome gift of their own fresh eggs! A wonderful part of the country with lots to see and do.

We were made to feel so at home. The cottage was idyllic, cosy, clean, tranquil and so restful. We loved our weeks stay here and would definitely return in the foreseeable future. The welcome pack was really appreciated, as was our first experience of using a wood burner wonderful.

Lovely cottage set in superb surroundings. We were made to feel very welcome by the hosts. A wonderful place to get away from the hurly burly of modern living.
