Area
The classic seaside resort of Swanage is right at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The town offers plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take a short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.

The holiday couldn't have been any better, the property is presented perfectly and the workmanship is to perfection let alone the amazing customer service we experienced. After numerous holidays in the same area paying more than this one or slightly less we always got the feeling that no one really cared and take it or leave it as there's no where else for you to go. We also had to highlight health and safety issues and missing important items and reminding places we were renting from that its not our job to check the inventory just because the last guests didn't complain you should be checking everything during the handover clean for the next guests to ensure its safe and has everything you're paying for as advertised. But no not here, its clean, well stocked and there's other household items that are provided for your comfort. The property owners cant be any more helpful and friendly and accommodating if you want to ask about something and very understanding with the dogs which is important to us. Lets put it this way, if all my bedrooms and facilities were this good in previous jobs as a 4 star hotel maintenance manager I'd be well pleased. Why cant the other lettings around Swanage be as nice and as well ran as this one? I'm sure there is but for around £1000 a week you expect quality and this what Coombe Orchard gives. When you take your dogs out its just out of the front door and round to the side on the drive through a gate, best keep supervising your dogs as there's wildlife the other side of the stone walls. This place is perfectly centred for travelling about and walks with your furry friends. Its just off the main road into Swanage, and just to note we were not disturbed by the traffic either. And bring some extra throws as your dogs will love the massive bed, i know ours did along with us too. There's a lovely spacious bathroom with power shower which maintains the right temperature which also doubles as a bath with underfloor heating. There's also plenty of instructions for everything and local maps for walks rather than being left to work it all out which is nice and thoughtful.

Lovely cottage, very well placed for visiting the coast and other areas of interest.. Enjoyed the privacy and relaxing atmosphere. Made very welcome. A very refreshing break. Did the priests way walk from cottage to worth and enjoyed the views and saw deer on the way. The pub in worth was very enjoyable serving pasty and home made cider. Loved Studland bay and country park walks with Corfe views amazing.
