Area Wooler is a charming, historic market town that sits in the foothills of the Cheviot Mountains, which are a part of the Pennine Way. Wooler, sometimes known as "The Gateway to The Cheviots," is a great base from which to explore the rest of Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Located on the border of Northumberland National Park, Wooler is not far from either the mediaeval town of Alnwick and its world-famous Castle and Gardens or the well-preserved Garrison town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. Chillingham Castle, home to a legendary herd of wild white cattle, and Coldstream, on the Scottish side of the border, are both easily accessible by car.
Region Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian’s Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

We had such a lovely holiday at Compass Cottage. The cottage itself is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and has such a lovely feel about! The location is perfect, it is so easy to get to places like Alnwick and Bamburgh. The owners were so helpful and welcoming. I really recommend this property for anyone wanting to explore this stunning part of the country.

What a gem this cottage is , we stayed for a weekend and you want for nothing in this absolutely spotless property.
Beautifully decorated and so comfortable.
During our visit we stopped off at the glorious Ingram Valley , ideal for a day with the kids to play in the water or have a picnic,at the end of the valley you can park up and have a nice 1.5 mile walk to the spectacular Linhope Spout waterfall.
Following day we had a great day visiting Bamburgh Castle and the close by Seahouses for fish and chips.
All necessities are close by also, you will not be disappointed for sure on this wonderful cottage in Northumberland.
