Area
One of Cornwall's prettiest harbour towns, St Ives offers narrow streets, tight-packed cottages nestling around the quayside, the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum, fabulous beaches, superb shops, a thriving community of artists, great pubs and restaurants and much more. With its semi Bohemian lifestyle and romantic air, it's easy to see why this is the county's premier holiday resort. The surrounding area has much for the visitor to see and do with abundant wildlife, fabulous coastal walks, top quality surfing and the Celtic mysteries of the Land's End Peninsula are all within easy reach. A superb destination!

Region
Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.

We arrived early but was told we could park at the property and explore St Ives, when we drove in Liz the owner was there and said the cleaning was done and we could go in.. we looked upstairs first to see the view from the large balcony which was fantastic. The bedroom downstairs had an ensuite so my granddaughter went in there with her 1 year old daughter and partner. would recommend to anyone although St Ives has some very steep roads so need to be fit.

A few things let this holiday down, firstly there was a building site next door, noise every day.. The king size beds are just singles linked together so there is a big lip where they join. Every shower in the place was leaking around the shower head. We did not feel welcome at all, we met the owner on the day of arrival, we chatted but she was very weary of us as we were a group of 25 year olds and one baby it did not make us feel welcome at all. Parking is another thing, there is only a gap just wide enuff to fit your car through, have to monouver to fit the 4 cars on. Two out of the 4 cars scraped every day as there was a big pothole at the end of the drive causing a lip wich could not be avoided. Then you had to drive over two manhole covers that are bent with the weight of cars going over them as there only pedestrian rated. We also felt there shoils of been a grass area somewhere around the house especially for any children that visit. Overall very disappointed for the cost of the hoilday.

We stayed as 3 families celebrating my parents Golden Wedding Anniversary. There is absolutely nothing to fault. We arrived early and the house was still being cleaned. However we were allowed to leave our cars there and go off and start exploring St Ives. When we came back we waited on the terrace whilst the finishing touches were bing made. The house felt very welcoming and there were fresh flowers to great us. There were also a couple of bottle of cider and cornish clotted cream biscuits waiting for us! The rooms were all spacious, furnished lovely and the beds were incredibly comfortable. In fact the pillow was the most comfortable one I had slept on. 2 of the rooms had ensuite. There were an additional 2 bathrooms which is ideal for a group of people. There were 4 bedrooms on the top floor all coming out on to the balcony with wonderful views and the doors leading to the balcony either opened as a door or good be tilted to open as a window, There was a projector and screen in the main sitting area as well as a decent sized TV on the wall where we could watch films (Netflix was available) The view from the terrace was fabulous and even on rainy days it was wonderful being able to open the bi fold doors and sit out looking at the sea. The kitchen was stocked well with cutlery, plates, saucepans, (maybe could have done with a big pasta pan to cook rice or pasta but that is is all :)) There were 2 hi spec ovens and an induction hob. There were 2 dishwashers (one in the utility room and one in the kitchen) and a tumble dryer. There were a selection of games and a gas barbecue. We could not have asked for more. The walk into St Ives only took about 10/15 minutes (slightly longer on the way back due to the steep hill) and was convenient for Porthmeor beach (which was idyllic) We enjoy our stay in this beautiful house and enjoyed the family evenings cooking, chatting and having the chance to be together in a lovely place. The lounge was comfortable with plenty of seating for all. We didn't eat out much but did go to the Loft Restaurant and Terrace in Norway Lane which was fab (but we booked before we came away as we were a large group) Lands End and some beautiful gardens all within easy driving distance. We found a lovely fish and chip shop about half a mile from the house (Sharkys) out of the town with easy parking too. We would all stay here in a heart beat again. It was a wonderful place that we would recommend to everyone. We loved every moment of our stay in this house and in beautiful St Ives

Wow is the only way to describe Chy Lowen. What a beautiful house and stunning location. Doesn't get much better than waking up to the most gorgeous sea view. The attention to detail that Liz the owner has gone to is stunning. The HD projector screen in the lounge was so big and clear. We now all want one at home :) The rooms are bright and really comfortable. Sonus is all rooms. Wonderful powerful hot showers. There really is nothing bad I could say about this place. We had a bbq on our last night which was lovely. The large tables, inside and outside made is perfect for us all to eat together. About a 10 minute walk down to the town (tad longer on the way back while you work your calf muscles on the steep hills lol) St. Ives is just stunning. I will definitely be back. Thanks for a perfect break.
