The cottage was clean, warm and beautifully presented.. Contact with the owner was excellent. The only criticism was the directions to the cottage on the Sykes website. They did not take into account that not everyone has a satnav.

An excellent stay with yourselves.. Couldn't have been happier. Each bedroom and bathroom was clean and tidy and we loved the Hot Tub and Log burner. The tiny issue we had was that we couldn't find/didn't have salt or pepper in the house - I know it's not compulsory to have but it'd have just ticked every single box - a rating of 99/100 without it. Thanks from some very happy Customers. :-)

Cherry woodland cottage was lovely, the only criticisms we had were there could have been a few more coat hangers.. Also when we arrived on the weekend the neighbours we think in the big house were extremely noisy, also every time the immediate neighbours moved a chair (which they done quite often especially late at night) you could hear them dragging the chairs across the wood floor! We loved the hot tub and my daughters used it morning and night. The accomodation was in a lovely setting my daughter watched the wildlife every morning, the walk to Windermere via the footpath was more than a 15 minute walk but very pretty. All the villages in the surrounding area were very pretty Coniston was a lovely place and we travelled up to Keswick which is worth a visit. All in all a lovely holiday.

Spacious and clean, everything provided to make your stay a home from home, couldn’t ask for anything more! Internet a little temperamental at times, that’s the only negative we found!

The cottage was beautiful and so clean and tidy.. We had everything we could want and more with the peaceful surroundings and great facilities. The hot tub was great and was checked everyday (discreetly) to ensure it was working correctly. The town of Bowness was a 15 min walk down hill or a 5 min (£5) taxi ride back up the hill! Would recommend and would certainly visit again.

Great setting over looking the woodland of the lakes.. The house was great and just what we needed to celebrate my 50th birthday. You had thought of everything and we all loved it :-)

The thing we could complain about was the noise for one of the cottages or big house at the back of us.. It was very loud up until around four in the morning.

Fabulous accommodation in a secluded spot not far from town adjoining a handful of other similar cottages.. Modern decor, well appointed kitchen, large cosy living room & 5 comfortable bedrooms. Everything was perfect for our recent stay, including the weather! Would highly recommend.

1. The ground floor shower room was not suitable for use by anyone with a mobility problem as there is high step up into the shower and nothing to hold onto [ eg.. grab rails] when entering or leaving the shower. I was unable to shower during our stay but had to make do with standing to wash. I did enquire about suitability of shower use before booking and felt misled. Also the shower room is so small that it is difficult to use. The hand wash basins are cloakroom size making it awkward for tooth cleaning without banging into the wall. The ground floor shower room is approximately 7 feet x by less than 3 feet wide then hand wash basin 10 inches deep and a shower and toilet fitted into the space. Not much room for comfort ! The showers were difficult for the able bodied among us due the bi-fold doors. 2. Without moving and making use of the hot-tub steps and the cigarette end box it was not possible for me to use the patio area due to high steps again . 3. Although access to the communal on-site open fields and woodlands is advertised the gates , apart from one we found, have notices saying 'KEEP OUT' 4. Overall it was a disappointing experience because it did not meet the expectations implied by the advertising which uses the word ' luxury' when there was an overall meanness of spirit in that it , although was very comfortable in some ways, failed in others such as cheap small sized cutlery, rather worn kitchen goods, no pegs for hanging washing on line, no spare toilet paper and minimal hospitality welcome. I do understand that this a self-catering holiday but its not the cheapest and the advertising raises expectations which are not met. 5. Some aspects of my complaints we could have easily overlooked but not the difficulty of not being able to use a shower . The expectations on arrival were were lessened by a notice saying 'overflow car park' when we felt were going to a quiet cottage in the country side and there were a lot more buildings on the site not shown in the advertising. 6. I have now spent a great deal of time , on several occasions , pointing out the shortcomings of this holiday let when I would much preferred to have come home feeling more relaxed and less stressed about the lack of quality regarding our stay. 7. Sadly and lastly we may not book with Sykes Cottages again as our recent holiday experiences have failed in one or more ways as I expect your records show.

Great place to stay! 10 of use stayed here for a weekend away and had a lovely experience. The size of the cottage and facilities were excellent for the number in our group and the running of the cottage was really straight forward, including operating the log burner, smart TV, sound bar and hot tub. We are already looking at booking again for later in the year. Many thanks

The brochure pictures doesn’t do it justice .. It’s far better than the promotion package.
