Castle View Cottage Denbigh , Denbighshire

Castle View cottage is a lovely cottage situated in a beautiful, peaceful area.. We would love to return. The cottage is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped and the owners are very welcoming. There are lovely views from the pretty little garden with cows and sheep in the field. There are lots of interesting places to visit close by and walks from the door on quiet narrow lanes and footpaths.

We had a wonderful stay at Castle View Cottage.. It had been cleaned to a very high standard and we really felt that it was as safe as could be. We met the owners and they were friendly, welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. The property was larger than expected so there was plenty of space for out family of two adults and two young children to spread out and relax. There were large comfortable sofas, ample soft towels and cosy beds. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. It was great to have a utility to leave muddy shoes, bags etc. The location was perfect for us and we enjoyed exploring the Clwydians, Llyn Brenig, and the coast at Colwyn Bay and Rhyl. Would highly recommend this property.

Lovely holiday in rural wales.. Everything about the cottage was perfect. Loved to open the curtains to see sheep, lambs, pheasants and hares in the field outside. Very welcoming owners...nothing was too much trouble. Loved it! Thank you Ailsa and Nigel.

Very pleasant stay in a lovely location.. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly, including Bailey (the dog). It was very nice having a wood burner, and the fuel to use it. Very welcome on a cold, damp evening.

The owners Ailsa & Nigel were so welcoming & attentive to our needs.. The cottage was beautifully equipped, clean & far more spacious than we had originally thought.....the advertising photo does not show the whole of the 'Guest' cottage & as it states the owners live next door, we thought the cream painted wall was theirs! Peaceful, relaxing, & an absolute joy to return to each evening! We shall definitely recommend to family & friends.

Great place, very peaceful.. We were made to feel most welcome. Ideal place when you have toddlers as it is all on one level. Lots to see in the surrounding area.

The holiday experience was first class.. The accommodation is comfortable, spacious and clean. The cottage is set within beautiful countryside giving a perfect peaceful hideaway. For those enjoying a good walk it is sufficiently close to Denbigh for all basic amenities and a short drive gives access to a number of seaside resorts. On a personal note I would like to thank the owners Nigel and Ailysa for going the extra mile to make us feel welcome and informed. A highly recommended holiday.

Peace and tranquility !

The cottage was in a lovely quite location, & well equipped.. The owners were very friendly & after welcoming us left us to our own devices. There was a welcome pack on our arrival. We would go again if it wasn't quite so far away. The supermarkets were a few minutes drive away in either Ruthin or Denbigh. We loved the views from the cottage. We even saw a shrew in the garden, as well as cattle & sheep in the field.

I was very pleased with everything about this property and its location.. It was in a very peaceful area but so close to shops that it made our holiday very enjoyable. The wild life that we saw from the windows of the cottage was amazing. The owners of the cottage were so welcoming and friendly that we felt very relaxed right from the start. I would recommend this cottage to anyone.

The cottage was wonderful , far exceeded the description and photographs of the online brochure .. The rooms were large , very comfortable and had lovely countryside views. The peace and quiet was almost deafening , with a variety of birdlife , especially the visit from a Kestrel , who sat on the fence for ages one evening. The location we found to be very good for all the North Wales attractions , being only a short drive to the A55 North Wales Expressway.( Even the Wi-Fi was strong enough to watch an online football match.)

Ideal setting for peace and tranquility yet not far from places to see .. The owners are exceptional and go out of there way to make your stay a good experience .

The cottage itself was very well equipped and even had welcoming Milk ,tea, coffee, etc .. The owners were next door and could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them

A delightful cottage in lovely rural location.. The owners are friendly, welcoming and helpful.

We stayed here with my Mother In Law in between Christmas and over the New Year. The cottage was decorated with a few Christmas decorations and a Christmas tree, which was thoughtful. The owner had also left some milk, tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits etc.. for us. The owners are very friendly and are on hand if you need them, but leave you to enjoy your holiday in private. The heating is by electric, though not storage heaters as described, so can be switched on and off as required. The beds were very comfortable and supportive with new good quality mattresses. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils for preparing and cooking home cooked food. We would have preferred a walk in shower instead of a shower over a bath, can't please everyone though. The water pressure is not brilliant, but I think water maybe from a private supply, so maybe reason. The room my mother in law slept in also had a double bed, but no bedside tables, so she had to cobble together a table with a tray for water etc.. It was very useful to have another TV and sofa in the dining room as a group of people do not always want to watch the same thing. The location was lovely and peaceful. Towards the end of the week some ewes and lambs arrived in the field behind and were entertaining to watch. The sitting room with wood burner made it a very cosy cottage in the winter, but I can imagine that it would also be lovely in the summer months with the small garden and outdoor furniture. There were French windows leading from the sitting room to the garden. The property can be difficult to find as down a track, later in the week, I made the mistake of driving down the wrong track and had to reverse back up as there was a gate at the bottom and no where to turn round. My advice would be, before driving down any track, to check that there is a sign for Castle View on the right hand side. We took two cars and although there are two parking spaces, space was a bit tight for manoeuvring. It can be done though, with a bit of patience Supermarkets are just a few minutes drive in Denbigh, Morrison's, Lidl and Co-Op at present, although I think Aldi is coming in Autumn 17. We did miss a pub within walking distance, not sure if what used to be a pub in the village, a mile or so away is open or not? There was no mention of it in the paperwork in the cottage. However there is a lovely coffee shop attached to The Lodge, in the village, a high end ladies fashion shop. They also do light lunches as well. In all would highly recommend.

The cottage was very well maintained and comfortable, a genuine home from home. It is situated in North Wales and we were surrounded by beautiful countryside and farmland. The owners were very helpful and friendly and as they lived next door we knew that we could call on them if we needed anything. All in all a perfect week for us.

This cottage was perfect. It's location is so peaceful. It was wonderful to sit outside in the garden and listen to the sheep and cows. We wouldn't change a thing.

The cottage is very comfortable, clean and warm, and in a beautiful peaceful setting, within an hour's drive to the coast. The owners, who live next door, are very friendly and welcoming yet completely respected our privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed our week and would love to stay again.

Our stay was relaxing and we were made very welcome by the owners who were more than happy to assist with the odd query. The cottage is excellently furnished with a more than adequate kitchen, lounge (two TVs in the reception rooms can help settle any viewing arguments!), and bathroom facilities. It is kept very clean and comfortable and is exactly what you'd hope for when renting cottage accommodation.

We stayed at Castle View cottage in May 2015. On arrival, you drive along the private driveway and take in the wonderful views across the vale of Clwyd. The cottage has been modernised and finished to a high level. Outside, a natural water spring runs along side the cottage giving a relaxing atmosphere in the beautiful private garden. Although the owner lives next door, they respect your privacy but are there should you need any advice. I have many wonderful memories from my stay, but the two that will stay with me are sitting in the garden in the evening listening to the water and looking up at the stars in an extremely dark sky. We also enjoyed our day out at the Brenig lake visitors centre around 15 minutes from the cottage. On our return from the a full day at the lake we lite the log burning stove which completed a wonderful day.
