We had a great time and enjoyed some of the quirky features of the cottage.. We were glad that we'd carefully read the description and the upstairs rooms worked well for our group. Fabulous powerful showers and plenty of space for our group - thank you.

The house is beautiful and a great size for our party of 6 adults and 3 young children.. Lovely location with easy access to the beach, train station and a pub and shop on the door step. The description does need to be clearer that the single and cabin bedrooms are upstairs in the main living area and not too well situated for children to sleep in due to noise from the main living area of an evening. There were also only 2 tv's in the property where as the description states 3. The general cleanliness of the house wasn't great, lots of cobwebs and dust in the bedrooms as well as items under beds from past guests. The house is well equipped with lots of games, books and local walk information. Enjoyable stay over new year.

Plenty of towels, linen, kitchen and cooking utensils , cleaning products .. Close to small shop and less than 10 minutes walk to the beach . Pub in the village doesn’t sell food - under new management . One thing which should have been mentioned in the advert is there is no garden , or back access. This is a concern considering it says it is pet friendly . We changed our mind at the last minute and didn’t bring our dog, which was fortunate when we realised there was nowhere to let her out. Equally we had 4 young children with us , so an outdoor area would have been very useful. The beds are super soft ( the double at the front is soooooo squeaky just sitting on it!!! ) No windows to see out of in the property, so you need to get out to avoid cabin fever , or get a good book

There is plenty of cutlery, plates, glasses and utensils.. There is ample of hot water, there are three good showers. The open space kitchen living area is excellent and works well. There are books and games to keep you entertained if needed. There is a play park short walking distance, suitable for young children. Asda do online delivery. The village shop is opposite. Otherwise there is a Co op at Tywyn, about a 10 minute drive. Aberdovey is a further 10 minutes and worth going to. Short walk to railway station and a pleasant walk to a pebbly beach. The parking for a single vehicle outside is tight but there is a nearby car park, which can also be full but you should be able to find somewhere nearby. There are no plastic plates bowls, cutlery for younger children. The children bedrooms on same floor as living area so open to noise. There is only one set of keys. The key safe does not operate correctly. The village pub had just closed down. There is no outside patio or garden. A stair gate would be useful. One of the cots had a base missing.

It's a beautiful part of the world, however regarding the property we were not very impressed.. Potentially a lovely space, however: - when we arrived the front door was wide open and no-one was inside - the children felt a little spooked. - not very welcoming for kids with posters such as 'massacre of the innocents' - a bit creepy for kids. - no windows you could look out of (and few that could be opened). - very dirty when we arrived. The dining table was sticky and all cutlery / crockery was dirty and we had to wash everything before we could use it. Basically the owners need to go through cutlery / crockery and have a clearcut and replace the broken items. - no heaters in bathrooms. - uncomfortable beds (very soft) - unpleasant fly tape catchers - need more recycling bins Sorry to be negative, however in the first couple of days we did consider going back home.

Cape Love idris is an amazing building set in a lovely village.. A small beach and a railway station a short walk away were the icing on the cake. However, the accommodation and furnishings. we're very 'tired' and the whole place needed a really good clean.

Be very sure you have booked the correct dates.. I recently booked he wrong weekend by mistake... realised 2 days later... the property was not available for my correct weekend and I was not entitled to a refund as my booking was made within 6 weeks of departure. I wasted 700 GBP on what was a tiny mistake! Tainted my otherwise positive view of Sykes forever!

This is super family holiday accommodation, it is extremely well equipped and is in a great location.. The children particularly liked the bunk bedroom and we all loved the open plan living, dining area. The Chapel has been tastefully and sympathetically renovated and had a very special feel to it. Please do not be put off by the lack of parking as there is a large free car park very close by. The little shop across the road is well stocked and the pub was very welcoming and served a reasonable Sunday Lunch.

The property suited our needs very well, but with it being half term it was terribly expensive for one whole day and a few hours each on the arrival and leaving days..

We had a fabulous time at the property. The living space upstairs was fantastic and we all enjoyed playing bar billiards. The house was full of charming character and was filled with great literature and games for the children to play. The open kitchen was ideal as it meant we all could still be together with enough space for everyone.

We had a fabulous couple of days in a beautiful setting. The chapel was lovingly developed into a beautiful home. I only wish I owned it myself.
