Very quiet even though it is a working farm .. Ideally placed between Malton and Pickering with the coast just a pleasant drive away.

Words really fail us, we relaxed even before we went inside this amazing cottage.. The personal touches of yummy cake and flowers and milk just added to the experience. The setting right on the farm was brilliant, sheep fields around two sides of the cottage, they were cute. The owners were in the background but on hand if needed too. My 5 year old grandson was in awe of the farm machinery and the cows and bulls. It's situated within easy reach of Whitby and the coast, also loads of walks too. Loved every minute there and want to revisit in the future.

Our third holiday in this cottage, so we obviously love coming here.. It is good for touring the area, a very comfortable cottage with very good facilities. It is also very peaceful and a great place to recharge your batteries!

Lovely part of the world, with loads to see and do.. Extremely comfy and cosy cottage, with friendly owners. Our daughter particularly loved being shown the new born calves on the farm.

We had the best time at Bellafax! The cottage itself surpassed our expectations - the pictures online do not do it justice. It is beautifully presented - cosy, clean and homely and was even decorated for the festive season. Our hosts were superb - friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. They provided a welcome pack including cake, milk and even a bottle of fizz and a card to help us see in the new year. Farmer David gave my two young sons and my husband rides in his tractor - a highlight of their year!! The surrounding area is absolutely stunning and a joy to explore - we can highly recommend Whitby, Robin Hoods bay, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway experience, Rievaulx Abbey, the beautiful city of York, and a walk on the moors from the Hole of Horcum. It was a truly wonderful experience from start to finish.

Bellafax Cottage is a charming, cosy, spacious cottage in a secluded and peaceful setting.. You drive through the middle of the farm to reach it. This accommodation made for a really relaxing break and a great base for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors and nearby coastline. Great location with country cottage charm including a super log fire. Sarah is a kind and thoughtful host, Christmas tree and decorations were very much appreciated as was the lemon cake!

Well presented, cosy, comfortable and fully functional cottage.. Our hosts, Sarah and David were friendly and a mine of local information when planning the next activities. We just missed a few more lighting options for the dull November days and evenings for example, in the living room a standard lamp to read by would have been a welcome feature and for the dining room something similar to allow one to pore over brochures and maps at the dining table (and even spend a day puzzling when weather was monsoon-like). Would definitely consider a follow on visit, lots more to explore !

We booked the cottage for Christmas. We received a warm welcome on arrival and were show around the cottage with everything explained to us. The cottage was warm and cosy with plenty of logs and coal for the open fire. The rooms were very comfortable and the location very peaceful. The owners had provided decorations and a Christmas tree prior to our arrival, which was a lovely touch, along with a welcome pack.

We felt like we had chosen such a lovely cottage to stay at, and the location of it was great for commuting to different places in Yorkshire. We visited many of the sea side locations and Dalby Forest and the drive to and from the cottage was good.

This was our 9th holiday at this cottage, for us it is the perfect holiday location from the point of view of location and the welcoming but unobtrusive owners.

We have just returned from our 9th holiday at this cottage - our perfect holiday location. Bellafax and its owners offer a warm welcome, and there are views of green fields from every window - this time with the added bonus of new lambs. The cottage is comfortable and well-equipped and ideally located for the North York Moors, with the steam-train to Whitby, and excellent bus-service from Malton to York, or Whitby, and the beautiful Dalby Forest within a few miles. There are many attractive villages in the area, as well as Castle Howard, Yorkshire Lavender and more than enough to fill a week's holiday or more. We can highly recommend Bellafax, and will be back next year.
