Had a fabulous stay at Beggars Roost, I cannot recommend enough! It’s in the middle of nowhere, your only neighbour is a beautiful highland cow next door and Healey’s Cyder Farm which is conveniently located diagonally opposite over the road. We even got complimentary entry and cream teas for the Cyder farm which we was really grateful for. A fab morning was had here.
The accommodation itself was lovely. Big and spacious, the games room was a hit with its 3-in-1 games you could play! Also the spinning sofa chairs were nice to games lounge too.
Things to note:
- There is an active graveyard behind the premises which we knew anyway due to previous reviews but just something to be aware of. You do see the odd person pop in and out but there’s never many. (Not talking about ghosts by the way)
- Because they allow dogs, there was the odd dog toy lying around and the living room did have a slight dog-odour about it. It wasn’t too much of an issue, but when you first went in to the room it did hit you and was slightly overpowering.
- The Wi-fi was pretty shocking. Very intimitent, so be prepared for not the best of internet whilst you stay here. That was quite disappointing for me.
- No bin in the super king bedroom with the twin beds. A simple fix!
- The board games as stated on the listing were no where to be seen.
Besides the factors pointed out, this place is a wonderful accommodation and I would overall recommend it. It’s a great base, very central and close to Newquay and Perranporth.
