Spent a lovely week at this cottage in September 2021. As a first holiday after lockdown it was perfect - tastefully decorated , spacious with comfortable bedrooms and a nice sun trap to sit outside at the rear. Kirkby Stephen has lots of amenities - pubs, great fish n chips and other takeaways, shops and cafes. Its also a great location to go walking from and not far away are the delightful villages of Appleby and Hawes.

We had such a lovely stay at Bayleaf cottage. A great perk is, that it is walking distance to the shops, pubs/bars, the river, hiking trails, bike trails etc. The cottage was very clean and tidy. The interior is modern and creative, and has a very homey/cozy feel to it. The sauna is a real treat too. We took our mountain bikes with and could keep it safely in the courtyard so that we could come and go as we pleased. We will definitely book this cottage again, great value for money!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Very clean and simply set up for all our needs. Bed's we're very comfortable and the whole cottage is eloquently decorated. Great location in the centre of Kirkby Stephen meaning it is only a short walk to one of the many local shops and surrounding countryside. Great location for walkers and people looking to relax. We will definitely be trying to rebook here in the future.

This quaint cottage situated in the heart of Kirkby Stephen is a real gem. Myself and my fiance stayed here. A family or group would also find this perfect with the cottage sleeping 6 comfortably. The rooms were very clean and facilities super, we especially loved the sauna. The walking/hiking trails are also a real highlight to our trip with easy access to all surrounding hills, finishing in the local friendly pub a very short walk away. We will be back again next year! Thank you.

We stayed at Bayleaf for a long winter weekend. The property is finished to a very high standard and has everything you need - including a cot and high chair for our toddler. The sauna was such a treat, especially after a cold walk! The town itself is small but very quaint and friendly with plenty of cafes, shops and pubs to enjoy.

We had a wonderful stay at Bayleaf back in February. Exceptionally clean and the decor is beautiful, this made our stay very relaxing and comfortable. We had absolutely everything we needed and the facilities were great! Location was also a bonus, right in middle of the charming town of Kirkby Stephen. Can’t wait to return next year.

We had a lovely 4 night break at Bay Leaf Cottage.. We found after booking that picture of the front of the cottage on sykescottages.co.uk was misleading and we didn’t realise until we booked and got the actual address that the cottage was on a main road, literally next to a mini roundabout with no immediate parking outside. The picture on Sykes Cottages is taken from across the road, given the impression that the cottage has a large front garden and is set further back from the road. The cottage itself it clean, modern and really comfortable. It had a large kitchen with dining table which it was a pleasure to enjoy time in and a nice patio area with seating at the rear. This was our first time in Kirkby Stephen and after visiting the helpful Tourist Information office we enjoyed some amazing walks from the cottage with stunning scenery and lots of places to stop along the way. Having regularly stayed in the Lake District this was a change from the norm for us and it really is worth a visit to this area of Yorkshire if you enjoy walking and amazing countryside views. The sauna, large bath tub and rainfall shower were enjoyed by all after our days out!

We had a lovely stay at Bay Leaf Cottage in Kirkby Stephen. The cottage was warm and comfortable - especially the beds. It is very well equipped and the second sitting room was a great idea. We used the sauna which was wonderful and very easy to use. The rainfall shower was a nice finish to the spa bathroom feel. There are lots of activities to do in and around the area. The cottage welcome pack provides very useful information and suggestions for things to do. The restaurants and pubs in Kirkby Stephen are very friendly. Will definitely stay there again.
