A beautiful, peaceful spot with a very comfy cottage.. Peter & Andrea made us feel very welcome, and were on hand to help with anything we needed. The pictures online were very accurate to the property. Lots of thoughtful touches, and a lovely garden. Great walks right from the door, which having a dog was very useful. Good position to visit the places we love, like Braemar, Dundee, St Andrews. Would highly recommend.

Andrea and Peter are fabulous hosts.. We were made to feel very welcome yet again. It's great to know that someone is there if you need help but without intruding on your privacy at all. The cottage is gorgeous - we never want to leave!

There was one problem at the start of our week but this was dealt with very quickly and efficiently by the owners.. We were impressed by it all and think this was probably our best Sykes cottage ever. The cottage was spacious, very comfortable with a very high standard of cleanliness. Newtyle is a great village too.

This is a very well appointed and beautiful cottage.. Everything has been thought of to make your stay really enjoyable. The beds are extremely comfortable and there are plenty of beautiful soft towels provided. The lounge is stunning and the underfloor heating and wood burner make it really cosy. The village is of historical interest and there are great dog walks and running trails. It is the perfect setting for a country retreat, and a superb base from which to explore Tayside and Angus. We would recommend it and intend to stay again.

The owners were very friendly and approachable and the property was clean and spacious.. The location was secluded, but within easy reach of any local attractions and amenities. There were several enjoyable walks to take our dog on around the village. I would recommend it to other dog owners, or walkers.

Located on the drive leading to professional attentive but not intrusive owner's own home. Large comfortable lodge, modern superior decor, spotlessly clean. Important for us was immediate parking adjacent to lodge. Secluded yet not isolated (3-4 minutes walk into Newtyle), friendly locals, useful shop / post office and award-winning butchers. Super local walks all around Newtyle based upon old railway lines. A good base for us as we explored south to Dundee and Fife, east to the coast, north to the mountains and glens, west to Perth and Pitlochry. And we had 5 days of excellent weather as the icing on the proverbial cake.

Andrea and Peter were absolutely wonderful hosts and couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful.. The house was superb and provided everything for a comfortable, peaceful stay in a lovely location. For dog owners the circle of beautiful walks right from the door means it's difficult to leave the house at all! The wood burner in the drawing room was incredibly efficient and cosy, although Scotland provided a week with no rain at all. A wonderful, memorable holiday in every way, thanks completely to our charming hosts.

We thoroughly enjoyed our three week stay at Bannatyne Lodge.. Perfect in all respects!

The house was immaculate and had everything we needed.. It exceeded our expectations. The heating said electric and this was the one thing that when we booked put us off the house however the heating was in fact central heated and not storage heaters as electric implies in Scotland. I would recommend they alter this. Owners were great. Fantastic property and idyllic village.
