This holiday cottage is amazing. From the whisky and shortbread welcome tray to the amazing comfy bed and pillows to full bath and shower. Also nice to have local shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom as well. Whole place was clean and comfortable. Lovely place to come home too after exploring the falls of foyers. Kitchen has everything you need and a dishwasher. My partner enjoyed the coffee machine. We loved sitting on the sofa after walking all day and relaxing on the lovely sofa. Contact with the owners was great. They contacted us to provide all the information needed. The photos you see is 100% the same as the cottage. Grest to have a washing machine to use as well. When we come back to lochness we will be staying again. Lovely cottage. Thanks Louise and Rob. Bristol x

It was with sad hearts that we left this beautiful cottage. It really felt like home to us, and that is down to the owners as it is clear they have put a lot of care into Wendy's place, and have lovingly restored it to keep its cute cottage feel but with many creature comforts. The cottage as everything you need and I mean everything. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery and pans and trays this is rare in many cottages but something I found useful as I like to cook some nights and also it was useful that tesco deliver to the cottage which I found excellent Also the kitchen as a full size fridge and freezer and I thought a nice touch was the tassimo coffee machine with a few pods to start you off. The living room is lovely and comfortable with a amazing log fire ( logs provided) and a lovely view out the window to the the garden and the village green and most mornings a friendly pheasants visited the green . The bedroom is also comfortable with all you need from hairdryer to luggage holder and coat hangers. The baththroom as been done well with underfloor heating, heated mirror and heated towel rail a shower and bath. The garden was lovely with seating and a barbecue. And safety wise there is a smoke alarm/ fire alarm and a fire blanket. And you have all of this and it is situated in the most beautiful village with a friendly feel, a local shop and 2 tea rooms that serve lovely homemade food and a pub not far away with views over the Loch ness. There are many walks from the door and the amazing Loch ness just minutes away with its own shore area where you can sit and take in the wonderful views. We loved it here this cottage as everything and we can't wait to return again, thank you to the owners Ewan and Corina for sharing Wendy's place with us we have had an amazing holiday, and we can't wait to return.

Sorry to say we had a bad experience at this lovely looking cottage, overall the standard of furniture fittings etc is good and the location is lovely, BUT we had many problems. I had raised the matter with Sykes hoping to avoid a bad review on here but they just thanked me for my feedback as feedback is important to them (customers are not so important it would seem as not even an apology offered). Serious problems: The shower head was mouldy so could not be used, the cupboard under the kitchen sink stunk of damp, the window frames were dirty / mouldy, the cups were very sticky and looked unpleasant on the inside, the back door did not unlock and I couldn't see a smoke alarm anywhere in the property. In the days of Covid-19 and extra cleaning of holiday accommodation the cleanliness was a great worry especially as I am in the shielding group. Other lesser problems were: very little storage space for clothing in the bedroom (four very small drawers and a very small open wardrobe with one shelf), the kitchen was missing one or two items (no draining spoon or pizza cutter & no pint glasses) and only four of every item of cutlery crockery etc whilst four items might be considered adequate for two people six items would have made for far less washing up. A bulb needed replacing in the bedroom as did the batteries in the dvd remote and there was a problem with the sound on many of the freesat channels.

Lovely quiet peaceful location beautiful walks on the doorstep .. Took owners advice and did both walks which were close by and the small lochy was beautiful . Cawdor Castle is a must but take the road along the Loch to Inverness instead of the B roads !! Wonderful week away in a delightful cottage .

Wendy's Place is in a fantastic location for walkers and people looking for a great adventure.. Falls of Foyers is within a 2 minute walk. Cameron's Tea Rooms with their herd of Highland cows are 2 minutes walk down the hill at the back and Loch Ness is also within a 10 minute walk. Inverness is a short drive away as is Fort Augustus both of which are very pretty. Urquhart castle is just around the Loch. There is a small shop just down the road next to the Waterfall Cafe which has fantastic fish & chips on Friday evenings. The cottage has everything you need and is very clean and comfortable. We were lucky enough to meet the owners Ewan & Karina who were very welcoming.

If you like wandering on endless forest tracks, this location is for you.. If you need peace and tranquility, this holiday apartment in the quiet corner of a village is ideal. Perfectly equipped, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. A real credit to the owners taste and careful attention of Heather. Nothing beats a cosy comfortable base to return to for rest after outdoor adventures. Thank you for our week of retreat from hectic lives. Simply spot on.

We stayed at Wendy’s Place.. We chose this cottage because we love the Highlands in the autumn. We were not disappointed with our choice! There is everything you could possibly need/want within the cottage, but, as walkers we found we were short of somewhere to hang wet coats and place boots, although there was hooks on inside of bathroom door. The cottage was very clean and tidy and well maintained.

A perfect place for walks, Loch Ness on the doorstep, wildlife in the area is fantastic.. The cottage is a real home from home. Everything you need and more. Added bonus was the wood storage, not having to hunt around the area for more wood for the fire was such a bonus compared to other properties we've stayed in. This was a real treat to come back to after a long day walking in the fine very fresh highland air!

A very comfortable cottage, beautifully decorated, with thoughtful welcoming touches and in a great location on the quiet side of Loch Ness.. Excellent broadband! We would be very happy to go there again if we wanted another holiday in the area.

Perfect holiday cottage! My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Wendy’s place. Highly recommend this place if you want to be away from hustle and bustle. Had a relaxing week there. Perfectly located. Went to places whilst we’re there such as Falls of Foyers, Caledonian Canal, Dores beach, Inverness town, Culloden Moor, Brodie castle. Went on a boat trip on Lochness/ combined visit in Urquhart Castle/ Lochness visitor centre. Lastly, we had our walking trail around Falls of Foyers. Short visit in Morag’s crafty bothy.

We stayed at Wendy's Place in October last year, but it's taken me until now to write this review (always a good sign in itself when places live long in the memory). The cottage was perfect from start to finish, top to bottom, front to back. Everything has been done with care and attention, and the quality of the decoration, furniture and equipment puts other places to shame. The kitchen is spacious, the living area very comfortable, cosy and warm (can't beat a wood-burning stove), the bathroom just what you need after a day's walking, and the bedroom was snug and warm. The whole place was spotless and the cleaner obviously does an excellent job. Very much a cottage but with modern standards and quality throughout. For example - the TV set-up - it all worked (this sounds trivial but the amount of cottages where there is some sort of fault or clunky issue with the set-up is, from experience, unbelievable); The Wifi signal was strong and reliable throughout the cottage. The welcome pack was a nice touch, and we were sad to have to return south after what seemed a very short time (always a good sign when your left wanting more!). The location on the edge of the village was just what we wanted - tranquil and peaceful, yet very much within the village. Handy parking space right by the cottage - easy to bring things in either through the front or back. The Falls of Foyers are just minutes away (very dramatic especially after heavy rain) and for fans of hydro-electricity, the nearby power-station was worth seeing (there's no visitor centre, but the buildings on the shores of Loch Ness are inspiring in themselves). Morag's crafty bothy is well worth a visit (from where the cups in the cottage hail) for a mid-walk brew and a cake. Going for a run on the first night, it was a surprise and a treat to come across a deer just yards from the back door - you really are in the heart of the Highlands, where everything is just bigger, grander and generally more impressive. Can't fault it - great price, and I'd really rather not review it to keep it a secret ;) What are you waiting for.

Wendy's Place was beautiful and so comfortable.. We enjoyed many walks in the surrounding countryside some of them very challenging! We found the local shops, cafes, craft places and pubs very accessible and everyone was very friendly. Would recommend Wendy's Place to those who are happy to leave the car and who enjoy walking in amazing countryside.

The cottage was beautifully clean and smelled lovely.. The owners have obviously gone to lots of trouble to ensure their guests are welcomed, especially with the whiskey and shortbread they kindly left for us! We had a lovely stay in the Highlands, and would not hesitate to recommend Wendy's Place to our friends.

The cottage was bigger than the pictures lead us to believe which was great and the setting was ideal for us.. The car did not move for a week as we cycled and walked around the area in glorious weather. One local said he moved up to Foyers to avoid the sun!

It was a very comfortable and clean cottage.. Loved the little welcome whisky and shortbread. The fire was brilliant in the evenings as it was such a cold week. All the info and leaflets were very useful. It's such a beautiful area to stay

Wendy's Place was exactly as described by previous visitors.. When entering you will be pleased to find a clean and cosy ground floor apartment with everything you need for a comfortable short break away from the city. The place was spotless. The bathroom and kitchen were surprisingly modern. The kitchen included all the gadgets and a coffee machine to start your day off right as well as a large prep area for all you chef's. The living room has a very comfortable sofa and lovely fire place for the cold winter evenings. There's nothing like making a fire and sipping some lovely whiskey provided by the hosts after a long trek around the Loch. The location itself boasts incredible views. We went during November, specifically for the wintery views which did not disappoint. Even when it rained one afternoon it completely changed the scenery and made the rain worth it. The area provides amazing walks, local pubs with great food if you wish to eat out. The local shop and cafe are run by some lovely people who have great knowledge of the area. The café make a great burger and chips and also provide good vegetarian options. Getting around is manageable with local transport or on foot. If you wish to travel further out from foyers (10 miles or so) then a car would be beneficial. The trip to Foyers and four nights at Wendy's Place was exactly what me and my girlfriend wanted for our first visit to Scotland. I cannot recommend this place enough. The cherry on top came from being offered a lift by a local whilst waiting for our bus to Inverness on our last day. This is a great example of how friendly Foyers is and exactly why you should book a few day's at Wendy's Place to see for yourself.

We had a fantastic week staying in Wendy's Place. The accommodation was superb and of a very high standard- you will not be disappointed- the owners have thought of everything from logs for the wood burner to dish washer tablets to a welcome dram of whiskey and shortbread waiting on the table !! Perfect location too.
