Red Wharf Bay, also known as Traeth Coch (Red Beach), is famous for its sunsets. At low tide, 25 square kilometres (10 square miles) of sand are exposed, providing safe bathing, family fun, fishing, and miles of scenic walks. Holyhead has ferry connections to Dublin. Beaumaris, on the south coast of Anglesey, is a good base for touring Wales and is close to Snowdonia.
