Being in the town we expected a certain level of noise, however, what we experienced was horrific for a family. The bar across the street was open until 01:00 and the street party went on long after. The poor single glazing in the property meant that sleep was impossible until at least 02:00. Completely ruined a family holiday.

Really lovely, well equipped, large, good value apartment.. But you need to make some things clearer. Parking is in Cumbria cottages spaces 1 or 2. (There's no Sykes Cottages sign) Clear info on how the heating works. And most importantly this is a central apartment and so is on a busy road with pubs with occasional loud music very close.

Very good accommodation and location with parking, has everything that you need and more.. Only downside was the noise level from the Pub and main road (traffic/ people) was a louder than expected and gave disturbed sleep (we are not light sleepers).

This accommodation is very good quality and the location is excellent.. If you struggle with steps this is not for you but otherwise would recommend it to anyone, very spacious too we love it, this was our second trip here and would go again tomorrow. A jewel in the crown.

We were unaware that this was a second floor apartment which was difficult as we had a lot of luggage due to having a 1 year old with us.. The toilet seat was broken in main bathroom and en-suite shower was either too hot or too cold! Also it was very noisy at night which affected our sleep. No spare toilet rolls or washing up/dishwasher equipment.

Not only was the appartment excellent it was situated close to everything, walking to the shops and cafe was a real treat, we are looking forward to coming back to the lakes and this is a place we would return to.. only a couple of very minor things which we reported. fridge/freezer had broken door openings. we did forget to report that the bath tap was leaking.

We chose this apartment as it was central to the village and the description listed the attractive cafe on the ground floor where we could enjoy breakfasts, etc We eventually located the entrance to the car park after driving round the one way system of Ambleside a few times - the main problem being that two of the landmarks (a shop and a restaurant) that you list have changed name/brand and thus the directions were useless.. Imagine our disappointment when we found that the cafe was now a solicitors office (no coffees or breakfast for us !!). I’d have to add that the office had been open for some time and was not a recent change. A very disappointing sequence of misdiscriptions which spoiled our arrival (and every morning ) of the break In all other aspects the apartment was great Please update your description so that others do not have the same experience

This property was picked out at the last minute almost, but turned out to be ideal for us (3 adults). Minor drawbacks would have been the vehicular access to the parking bay, which was quite tight (but at least there was parking), the stairs to the front door (which would have been difficult for some, but not us) and the rather raucous 'music' from across the road late at night. Again, this wasn't really a problem for us, and the bedrooms are towards the other side of the property. So, all in all, it was clean, well kitted out, and ideal for visiting the Lake District, which is why we were there. I was delighted and would definitely use it again if the need arose.

Fantastic location, very well equipped to a high standard. Will return again ! Great for couples, small groups. Limited parking but street and car park near by. Entrance up external fire staircase so not ideal for children or elderly guests. Excellent apartment overall !

Booked a last minute four night break in October through Lakes Cottage Holidays. The apartment which is extremely well appointed, with quality decoration and furnishings, is in a first class location witht plenty of quality restaurants, shops and cafes on the doorstep. Stayed midweek so didn't suffer too much noise from bar opposite, couldn't see a problem with the stairs and private parking is a bonus. Ambleside is an excellent base for visiting a huge chunk of the Lake District, but you could just park the car and walk in the local area. We would definitely recommend Kelsick Heights and hope to visit again. Two minor issues no wifi, and Cottage Holidays need to update both internal photographs, description and directions on both Web site and in brochure to give the property the full credit it is due.

We booked at short notice and were delighted with the property. It was absolutely perfect and so spacious. Beautifully decorated bedrooms, huge kitchen and lounge, our own parking space too! Would highly recommend Kelsick Height as it's in an ideal location and has everything you could hope for from self catering accommodation.

Very well appointed and comfortable apartment. Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend as perfectly placed for walks out of ambleside and restaurants in town. Parked the car and left it for the weekend. We'll be back!

Fantastic flat with great facilities. Clean ,warm and very roomy. I would have rated this accommodation excellent apart from the traffic noise and the late night music bar across the road. Cannot understand the lack of double glazing...I would definitely return otherwise

We really enjoyed our stay at this flat, which was ideally located in ambleside for easy access to shops, pubs and restaurants. It provided an excellent base for a walking holiday that took in many different peaks across the Lake District.

Very pleased with the apartment and facilities. All very modern and well appointed and right in the middle of ambleside. Only downside was the number of steps up to it - 38 in total. Not a problem for us but probably not ideal for those less capable. Otherwise excellent.

Not easy to find, due to out of date instructions and tight access down an alley. Poor first impression from outside. Access for the infirm would be difficult, due to the numerous metal steps. Parking is tight for a large car. That's the bad points. Inside it is a different story. There were four of us (two couples), the property suited us very well. The kitchen was of a good size, with a large dining table and chairs. It is equipped with an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, dish washer (bring own powder) and radio/CD player. The lounge was very comfortable with two sofas, it had a music system, a large television (Freeview) and a selection of games. The oriel window in the lounge makes for a good location to sit and watch the world go by. The two bedrooms were well dressed and of good size - each having its own radio/clock/iPod docking station, plus a wardrobe and bedside units. The ensuite to bed 1 was excellent, although the 'house' bathroom may be ready for a refresh. The accommodation offers easy access to the town and to local restaurants, including a great value Italian opposite. Ambleside itself is a good place to base yourself in the Lake District. Overall we would thoroughly recommend.

Ambleside is a great base to go walking from and this apartment is well appointed and beautifully decorated in a central location with parking. A minor point; the second bedroom is chilly in the winter, even when the heating is on. However overall it's great - we've already booked a return visit. Nb It would not be suitable for anyone with disabilities as the approach is up steep stairs

This house is beautifully decorated and has a very modern feel. It is located in the centre of town and easily accessible to the shops and nearby walks. We had an enjoyable week. The only minor negative is that it is a little noisy between 10pm - 12pm with sound of people making their way home and the nearby restaurants.

To apartment was excellent, we had a great week. Clean, comfortable, liked to window seat. Our one and only fault was the en-suite shower that we didn't use as poor. The main bathroom shower was lovely a powerful. Having a parking space was good of course.
