We have just returned from our second visit to the Old House Holiday Cottage which for us was a first as we have never before returned to a cottage we have previously rented. So many aspects make this an exceptional property to rent for a holiday.
Firstly, the location is perfect with magnificent views across the valley, the imposing Llyn Clywedog dam and is ideally situated for a peaceful relaxing time. The cottage is located on a working Welsh Hill Farm, and we were there towards the end of the lambing season. Our granddaughter spent early mornings watching the lambs skipping in the surrounding fields, actually the adults did as well!
Secondly, and just as important, the owners, Kayleigh and Stuart, are extremely welcoming and pleased to help with nothing being too much trouble. The property is of a very high standard, there is plenty of space, the beds are very comfortable and the large galley kitchen is well equipped. All aspects of the Old House reflect Kayleigh’s attention to detail and perfection.
Thirdly, there are plenty of outdoor places and activities to pursue. Llyn Clywedog, Hafren Forest trails, the Red Kite feeding station at Bwlch Nant yr Arian, the Vale of Rheidol Railway and the Elan Valley were particularly enjoyable and are all within an hour’s driving from the house.
We would thoroughly recommend this as a rental property and holiday location.
