We are now into double figures in the amount of times we have visited either Dragon or Red Kite Lodge. We still get the same feelings on our latest visits than we got on our first. simply put, if you want to be somewhere which is just so peaceful, with the only noises being the animals, and the odd tractor passing, then this is the place for you. upon arrival you are greeted to a lovely chocolate cake, loaf of bread, and milk in the fridge. The fire is already built, you just need to light it. Dragon Lodge has 2 bedrooms, 1 with Double bed, and en suite. the 2nd room, King Sized Bunk Beds (never seen these as an option before) These are fantastic, liked by Adults and kids, all of the beds are supremely comfy. The Hot tub is massive, its 40 degrees, temp drops a little the longer you are in. the is a smart tv in each room, and a larger smart tv in the lounge (Don't forget to log out of your apps when you leave) the living space is all open plan, and is vast, comfy couches with enough space for 6, large beautiful dining table. there is patio doors which open out onto the veranda, in the centre is a large round table and chairs, and to the left there is the massive hot tub. Both of these overlook the vast countryside in front of you, the glass fronted veranda allows you to feed the Alpacas, Goats and Sheep. the Alpacas especially love Rich Tea Biscuits. when we come for a week, we plan on trying to get out sightseeing at least three times, we have never got out for a day more than once, such is the draw to just sit, chill and relax. my advice would be if your arriving on the Friday (4pm check in) would be to take something for tea that night, have toast for breakfast, then head out to get your weeks shopping in (Tesco/ Asda/ Lidl/ Aldi and Morrisons all within a 20 min drive) plan some days out (but don't expect to do them all once your chilled) if you can, take a walk to the Bull & Heifer Pub in the Village, its around a mile walk away, i will advise that the walk is longer back (uphill and dependant on how much you have supped in the pub)- the atmosphere is fantastic in the pub, has good sized seating areas outside, check on local listings for any events on here as they do a few, and they are great. the food is excellent, never had a bad meal. Julie, and kev who own the lodges are just the best hosts you could wish for, they are the sort of people who if you ask for something, if they don't have it, they will try there best to find it for you, nothing is too much trouble, they come to clean and check the hot tub every day, they are always on hand if you do need anything. Get to know them, have a chat, you will become friends with them very quickly. If you are looking for somewhere to stay, you got to try this place, i do not think you will be disappointed, we feel the calmness hit us as soon as we can see the lodges on the horizon, if i could move in, i would. Julie, Kev, Gem & Josh- Keep up the fantastic work you do, your lodges are now are second home.

Wow - what an amazing little hideaway - completely away from it all. The only company was the alpaca's, sheep, goats and horses. The lodge is absolutely beautiful, immaculate inside with everything you need. When we arrived we had a homemade cake, loaf of bread and milk in the fridge. The hot tub is the icing on the cake - sitting back relaxing looking at the fabulous view. We will definitely be back. What a fantastic holiday :-)

Had a short stay at Dragon Lodge. Wonderful setting on a Mid Wales Farm with Alpacas, goats and sheep who come up to the lodge for a chat. The lodge was spotless with all amenities needed for a carefree stay. Nearby in the village is a good pub offering a range of food to cover all tastes. Last, but not least, is the welcome given by Julie and Kev and the care taken to make sure your stay is memorable.

We had a fantastic stay. The lodge is beautiful and very well equipped. The hot tub is very relaxing. The animals are awesome, we really enjoyed feeding them and being visited by the chickens on the deck every morning. We really needed to recharge our batteries, this was the right place to do just that. Julie, the owner, was lovely. We were welcomed with bread and milk and a lively chocolate cake. We will definitely be booking gain and bringing the rest of the family and the grandchildren.

If you are looking for peace and relaxation in the country with only alpacas, sheep and the odd chicken disturbing you, this is the perfect place. Spotlessly clean and in the most picturesque of surroundings. We stayed for 3 nights with our two children and could not have felt more relaxed or welcome. Julie is the perfect hostess and did everything she could to make our trip blissful. The local pub is a short walk away and did lovely food, and Newtown is a 15 minute drive - well worth a visit, the kids lived paddling in the stream.

Stayed 25th sept-2nd October. Nothing but good things to say about our stay. Upon arrival we were in awe of the beauty of dragon lodge, on the table there was a loaf of bread, and a lovely chocolate cake, along with fresh milk in the fridge, courtesy of the owners Kev and Julie. Was a lovely touch. Throughout the days were were there, I found I was finding more and more things as I sat looking around. The hot tub was large, temp averaged around 39, obviously dropped when hood off but only by a couple of degrees. Either kev or Julie checked the chemicals an levels each day to ensure it was all correct. The purpose of our week away was to chill a bit, do a bit of walking, and a bit of sightseeing, in the end we were that impressed with the lodge and surroundings, the last few days we just sat an relaxed either in the hot tub, or in front of the woodburning stove, wood for fire supplied by kev. The fields surrounding the lodges have sheep, goats, and horses in them, and the closest field houses the 3 llamas, they love biscuits, and will quite happily come to the balcony to bed fed said biscuits, we ventured into the fields one day, and Tom the llama was that excited for biscuits he reared up on Annettes back, she was a little shocked by this but we had been forewarned that they may, plus it was I no way being aggressive, merely playful an in search of biscuits. Annette was not injured in any way, an I found it was one of the funniest things I have seen for a while. The lodges are far enough away from society that you don't hear road noise, but close enough (village is a mile walk away) that you can easy get supplies. The main area (newtown) is around 15 mins drive away an has everything u need (morrisons/ tescos/ lidl plus kfc, maccys etc). When we arrived, we noticed an egg chair at the other lodge, I mentioned to kev that annette loves sitting in them, the next day we had been out an when we arrived back, there was one there waiting for us, a beautiful touch, nothing was too much trouble. Would like to say thank you to Kev and Julie for your hospitality and advice on local area and things to do, we will be staying again sometime in the near future. Look forward to staying at dragon lodge again.

Perfect setting, beautiful lodge, welcoming owners. Not much to do locally but if your looking for somewhere to do nothing then this is perfect, very relaxing. There is plenty of beaches and town within an hours drive. Would definitely recommend

“10th November 2019. Group of three. The accomodation we chose was the Dragon lodge and what a delight it was. Spacious, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Our hosts, Kev and Julie, were absolutely fantastic and provided all our needs and more. The secure entry ensured no one could access the lodge as the key is placed in key safe upon arrival. The rooms were airy and the central heating system controls are modern and easy to use. In fact all the facilities are first class and new. The hot tub is just wonderful and a lovely place to be in the evening as the dark draws in and gets colder. Its cleaned and treated daily. The log burner is fantastic and heats up the lodge in no time at all. I struggled with getting it going at first but a quick message to our hosts and Kev arrived within ten minutes to get it started for me. Thats one of biggest stand out points too, that our hosts were courteous, very pleasant and handled any queries we had in a timely manner. The kitchen is modern, new and has everything you need for your stay. Tea, coffee, sugar, bread, a complimentary cake and even little things like dishwasher tablets were provided that make things easier and more comfortable for you to settle in. There is a smart TV with remotes in all bedrooms, the beds are super comfortable and even my best mate with back problems had a good nights rest with no issues. The bathrooms are also a highlight with new rain style shower heads that give you great hot water with a decent pressure. There are plenty of towels given in the rooms for the bathrooms and hot tub use. Your children can also have fun trying to find the elusive Dewi the dragon that is hidden somewhere within the lodge. Parking is fine, close and adjacent to the lodge with no problems for access with anyone with mobility issues or wheelchair users. My friends and I had an amazing time during our short stay and we would just like to say a big thankyou to Kev and Julie for being so hospitable. We will definitely be returning in the future as its an A* venue.”

Manor Farm Lodges have two lodges available Red Kite and Dragon Lodge both benefiting from beautiful views and the peace their rural location affords them. Red Kite is set with a King-sized double bedroom and twin bedroom and can accommodate 4 people. Dragon Lodge is set with a King-sized double bedroom and unique King-sized double bunk bedroom and can accommodate 6 people. Both lodges have a beautiful veranda complete with ample furniture a hot tub and stunning vistas over the lakes and rolling hills. We have just returned from a week in Dragon Lodge. I would like to thank Kev, Julie, Josh and Gemma for making our stay so enjoyable. Your attention to detail and customer service are second to none. The cake was delicious, it was so nice to have milk, bread, tea, coffee and sugar ready for our arrival. Even the washing up liquid and foil etc. So many extra little touches I couldn't list all, but all appreciated greatly. Kev thanks for the fresh meat. We will miss the beautiful views, the peace and quiet. Not forgetting the luxury of the lodge. We hope to visit again but in the meantime we wish you all the very best for the future. Despite wanting to keep your beautiful lodges just our secret. Many thanks Mark, Sandra, Bruno and Angela X
