Area
Dinas Dinlle is a fantastic coastal town known for its family-friendly activities and watersports (mostly wind and kite surfing) on its long, sandy Blue Flag beach. On a National Trust property near the beach, there is an Iron Age hill fort and Roman ruins. The modest Caernarfon Aerodrome is located at the beach's far end and is ideal for leisure flights or an afternoon at the Airworld Aviation Museum. Dinas Dinlle is close to Llandwrog, a charming Welsh hamlet, and Glynllifon Country Park, a Green Flag winner and one of Wales' best-kept secrets. Glynllifon Park was previously Lord Newborough's private park and is now a recognised S.S.S.I. with Victorian follies, streams, fountains, beautiful tree walks, craft shops, and The Glynllifon Mansion. Nearby, mediaeval Caernarfon, with its beautiful 13th-century castle and well-preserved town walls, is a popular tourist destination. There's also a station for the Welsh Highland Railway, which runs through some spectacular landscape. Caernarfon has several shops and restaurants, as well as a golf course, and is close to the beautiful beaches of Anglesey and the Lleyn Peninsula, as well as the mountains and rivers of the Snowdonia National Park.
