Siskin is a delightful Grade II listed, stone-built terrace cottage set in the village of Dinas Mawddwy, ten miles from Dolgellau. This cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms, consisting of one double and one second floor twin, together with a bathroom with double-ended bath. The cottage also has a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with woodburning stove. Outside there's roadside parking and an enclosed rear courtyard with furniture and a covered veranda and patio. Siskin is a charming Snowdonia base. Note: property only accepts maximum 1 well behaved dog.

Area
Dinas Mawddwy is an attractive, single-street village surrounded by beautiful countryside and overlooked by the wonderful Aran Mountains, in the southern part of Snowdonia National Park. There is a pub in the village and a number of others close by and the Meirion Woollen Mill stands on the banks of the River Dovey and is open to visitors.

Fuel, power and starter pack for woodburning stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Roadside parking outside property. Enclosed rear courtyard with furniture and covered veranda and patio. One well-behaved dog welcome (downstairs only, please bring own dog bed, blankets and towels). Sorry, no smoking. Shop 2 miles, pub 2 mins walk. Note: Due to the access and narrow spiral staircase to the twin bedroom, the property is not suitable for children under the age of 12 years or for those with limited mobility. Note: Twin bedroom has sloping ceilings and restricted head height. Note: One external step down to the front door. Note: WIFI is provided from neighbouring property and may be limited. Note - Please be aware, noise must be kept to a minimum after 11:00pm due to it been a row of terraced houses.

A warm welcome from Suzy (the owner) who ensures the cottage is very clean and well equipped.. A good location for walking, and a choice of locations to eat at within the village. Stuart of Sykes was also very helpful when we made our reservation.

Our return trip to Siskin Cottage, this time staying for 5 days over Christmas.. Suzy had decorated the cottage beautifully for us which made it feel like a real home away from home. Would highly recommend a stay at Siskin, such a great base for exploring the area. Suzy is a great host and so friendly, fortunately for us there were no problems whilst we stayed here but am sure if there had been Suzy would have sorted them swiftly for us. :)

We have stayed at Siskin before and returned using your discount voucher.. This is the first time that we have stayed in the same cottage twice. Immediately we felt relaxed. It was lovely once again.

What a lovely place.. Arrived to find a wonderful welcome pack. Even the dog was treated. We were met by Suzie a lovely lady who let us in then gave us some time to unpack before coming back to tell us about everything then left us alone to enjoy our stay. The cottage is clean, lovely decorated and well kept. There is a folder telling you how everything works along with maps and leaflets of the area and games and DVD's. Kitchen cleaning products are provided along with tea and coffee. Shower gel and hand soap in the bathroom and hair dryer in the bed room. Everyone in the area is very friendly. Rasta made friends with 3 local boarder collies Patch, sketch and flash. If you are a plane enthusiast then you will love it here. They fly directly over the cottage. Or you can take a 5 min drive to the Bwlch. A great location for the mach loop.

The cottage is a charming, cosy retreat.. The property is spotless, the beds are comfortable and we had everything we needed, as did our dog with little luxuries included! Suzie was a perfect host and provided comprehensive information about the cottage and surrounding area in the handbook. She was on hand (next door) but in no way intrusive The location is ideal for walking and taking in the stunning secnery. For aviation enthusiasts visiting the Mach Loop, Bwlch is on the doorstep! We would highly recommend this property.
