A very homely, comfortable farmhouse cottage away from it all in the Welsh hills near Betws y Coed. Extremely well equipped - plenty of crockery and glasses, as well as dishwasher, washing machine, freezer, etc. - everything anyone could need. A warm welcome awaited us, with home made scones, milk and tea/coffee. The highlights for us were the views, which surrounded the cottage in every direction, and the peace and quiet - only birdsong and the occasional sheep bleating! Beds were comfortable - there is a twin and a triple (double +single) bedroom - and a spacious, upstairs bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle. There is a large, enclosed garden, which is perfect for anyone taking a dog - our whippet thoroughly enjoyed himself! There is a small games room in an out building, with table football, dartboard,,etc. The cottage is approached from the A5 via a mile of narrow road, followed by just over half a mile of even narrower lane, making it wonderfully rural but quite a long way from any pub or restaurant. (We ate regularly at the friendly Silver Fountain pub, about 3 miles away, which serves good food and allows dogs inside - curry nights on Wednesdays when curry and a pint is £6.95 - recommended. Also try the home made steak and guinness pie - delicious! ) The owner, Mrs Jones, is extremely helpful and lives a mile or so away: she can provide free range eggs upon request, and any advice you need - she brought up her own family of four children in this cottage so is a real local expert.
