Jedburgh, a Scottish Border town with a rich history, is a quiet, 10-mile stopover between Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Edinburgh. Jedburgh, located in the heart of the Scottish Borders, has a lot to offer visitors. Historic attractions like the fascinating Jedburgh Castle Jail, Mary Queen of Scots House, and the imposing abbey, which towers over the town and dates back to 1138, are all within a short distance. The Teviot, Tweed, and Jed Rivers offer excellent fishing, and there are 21 top-notch golf courses to choose from in the area. Walking and cycling in the Borders is also a great way to see some of the area's breathtaking hillsides, enchanting Border Forests, and the St Cuthbert's Way, a 62-mile trail between Melrose and Lindisfarne. In the immediate area, you can visit the towns of Melrose, Kelso and Peebles in a leisurely manner.
