The property

Nestled on the Lilliardsedge Holiday Park in Jeburgh, Scottish Borders, is this wonderful two-bedroom lodge, Serena Lodge.

Enjoying an idyllic location with easy access to the local amenities on-site, and a contemporary interior with everything couples or a family of four could need, Serena Lodge is a fabulous base for exploring Scotland.

Park-up outside of the lodge where there is space for two cars, before being greeted by a lovely, decked area with furniture, an ideal spot for alfresco dining or enjoying your morning coffee.

Step into the open-plan living space, where you can cook-up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen, featuring a dishwasher and washing machine, ready to savour at the dining table for four over a bottle of wine.

After dinner, take your favourite tipple over to the plush seating area, where you can kick-back and relax in front of the electric fire as your favourite show plays out on the Smart TV.

After a day of exploring, indulge in a relaxing dip in the bath or freshen up under the overhead shower.

When sleep calls, two well-appointed bedrooms awaits, a king-size with its very own en-suite shower room and a 2’6 twin, both with plenty of storage for your belongings.

Explore your surroundings, where you will find the welcoming Tavern Bar & Restaurant, serving a tasty menu and local ales, perfect for when you don’t feel like cooking!

The holiday park also enjoys an excellent 9-hole golf course and an 18-tee golf course for those wanting to test out their clubs whilst on holiday, an on-site shop for stocking up on essentials and access to two woodland walks where you can spot the local wildlife.

If you can tear yourself away, head into the historic town centre of Jedburgh, where you can enjoy the delights of Jedburgh Castle Jail & Museum, Jedburgh Abbey and the Mary Queen of Scots’ Visitor Centre.

Within the town, you can also sample the local delights at Carter’s Rest, the award-winning Stewarts Bistro, and award-winning fine dining at The Capon Tree Town House.

Continue onto Kelso, home to its own fantastic golf club, here you can enjoy a game, visit Kelso Racecourse where annual events take place, or enjoy riverside walks along the River Tweed.

Next stop is Melrose, where you can delve into history at the Trimontium Museum, join the scenic walking trail of St Cuthbert’s Way which spans for 62.5 miles, wander through the peaceful surroundings of the Priorwood Garden, owned by the National Trust for Scotland, or visit the fascinating ruins of the 14th-century Melrose Abbey.

JEDBURGH

Kelso 12 miles; Melrose 13 miles; Peebles 37 miles.

The historic town of Jedburgh is a small, quiet town lying 10 miles inside the Scottish Border, situated halfway between Newcastle upon Tyne and Edinburgh. Set amidst the stunning countryside of the Borders, Jedburgh has much to offer visitors. There are charming shops, pubs and award-winning, family-run restaurants to enjoy nearby, as well as historic attractions such as the fascinating Jedburgh Castle Jail, Mary Queen of Scots House and the imposing abbey, which towers over the town and dates back to 1138. Great fishing can be enjoyed on the Teviot, Tweed and Jed Rivers and there are 21 excellent golf courses to choose from. The Borders also offer some superb walking and cycling over breathtaking hillsides or amongst the enchanting Border Forests, and along St Cuthbert's Way, a 62 mile trail between Melrose and Lindisfarne, which passes Harestanes Countryside Visistor Centre. The towns of Melrose, Kelso and Peebles are just a short drive away and are a joy to explore at leisure.
