Mr Ellis, November 2019
October 2019
The Coach House was part of a building that had a central courtyard that was charming.. Although there were two steps to access the property the accommodation was all on one floor with no steps inside and the rooms were spacious and not cluttered so it makes a good holiday for people, like me, with mobility needs.
It was extremely well fitted out with both dish washer and washer/dryer plus standards like micro wave oven, toaster and DVD player. Liz and Mike were also very helpful, assisting me to unpack my vehicle, arranging for somewhere undercover to park my mobility scooter overnight and charge it. They also sorted any and all queries, or issues I had during my stay.
The area is very good for a number of differing reasons, historic, walking, within reasonable distance of Edinburgh, Hadrian’s Wall and other places. The local town of Berwick also has a lot to interest, besides Ye Olde Superstore Morrisons, the town walls, castle (remains of), battlements and buildings. I spent several days there and still did not cover all I wanted to see.
A gem I found was The Union Chain Bridge, the oldest suspension bridge still in use in Europe, however, despite its antiquity and historic value very few people seemed to know of its existence and it had few visitors.
I loved my holiday, if I come back to the area I will certainly see if The Coach House is available.
