Photos don't give a true representation of this lovely cottage.. It is a wee gem of a holiday home and is far nicer in reality. It is a very sociable home with plenty of very comfortable relaxing areas; around the kitchen table enjoying a freshly cooked meal (using the very well stocked kitchen and excellent hob/oven), the conservatory playing games, chatting to the chefs or watching the sun go down, or the cosy living room watching tv/dvds, listening to music or warming up around the log burning fire. The fire was roaring all weekend (with plentifully supplied logs) warming us after a very windy news years eve walk along Southerness lighthouse beach (less than 5 minute drive) and a news years day walk along the beautiful sandy hills beach (a short 10 minute drive away). With 4 children, we were very comfortable and Gavin (the owner) was very accommodating by leaving us a high chair and travel cot. The children also very much enjoyed the delicious cookies and the adults enjoyed the quality chocolates left out. A personal welcome note and a quick visit on our first morning was appreciated too. Other points to mention also include the good wi-fi (coped very well with streaming sky sports, spotify and video calls), the very very comfortable beds, the constant hot water (and the excellent powerful en suite shower), the dishwasher (always a bonus when self catering) and the washing machine/tumble dryer (great when travelling with young kids). Overall, our entire group very much enjoyed staying in this delightful holiday and will hopefully return again one day.
