The Byre is a delightful, terraced barn conversion set on the owner's farmland. With three bedrooms including a double and two twins, plus a bathroom and a shower room, up to six people can enjoy a comfortable stay here. There's also an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area, while outside, a shared courtyard and ample off road parking with lockable bike storage awaits. The Byre is a charming holiday cottage, with plenty of beautiful walking and cycling trails available from the doorstep.

Three bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin, 1 x ground floor twin. Shower room with shower, basin and WC. Ground floor bathroom with bath, basin and WC. Split-level open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area.

Area
The market town of Newton Stewart, famous for its salmon and trout fishing, lies in a superb location between the serene rolling countryside of the Machars to the south and the Galloway Forest Park to the north. The area is steeped in history. The first Christian missionary to Scotland landed at The Machars, founding the first church in AD 397 in Whithorn.

Region
From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain’s best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Note: There are six steps down from the kitchen/dining area to the sitting room. Please note - WIFI is available but only suitable for browsing and that the 4G signal is good. Please note this property only accepts 3 night minimum stays.

The Byre is a great family cottage with 3 good size bedrooms and a lovely spacious kitchen with modern fitted units and all the appliances you need.. Loads of space for all the holiday gear and a secure lockable bike store. Great location for cycling and golf and walks in nearby Glen Trool. Would definitely visit again

On arrival we were met by Carol who showed us around and told us what we needed to know about the property.. There were some minor issues but not enough to spoil our break which we enjoyed very much. We let Carol, the owner/manager, know what we thought needed attention and these were corrected before the arrival of the next guests.

The Byre is a fantastic holiday cottage with a nice layout and all you need to have a great break away from home.. It is located very close to Newton Stewart, and there is a lovely bicycle path that allows you to walk or cycle right into the heart of the town without having to worry about traffic, which is great for small kids. The Byre also has fantastic views over the Cree estuary and Cairsnmore of Fleet, and with Galloway also being a Dark Sky park its great for photography too.

Nether Barr Steading was a lovely country location for our holiday.. The cottages are really spacious and well equipped. The view over the river meander is a beautiful outlook. Carol was a fantastic host and our kids enjoyed playing with hers.
