This charming town is situated at the top of Loch Ken and is in the Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park, making an ideal base for exploring this beautiful area of Scotland. The high street of town homes an attractive appearance, completed with a bank, a Post Office, St. Margaret's Church, a village shop, a golf club and the Cross Keys hotel, serving as a pub and restaurant. Furthermore, this market town has become a major market town with great links to Glen Ken and Castle Douglas, for further shopping and eateries. For days out, you can explore the Galloway Forest Park, where you can take a walk up to the hillside to see the deer or take a forest drive which takes you past Loch Don. Other activities include visiting Loch Ken or taking the children to the Cocoa Bean Company.
