Situated right next to the Piazza San Marco, this apartment is in a superb spot. The square is also home to St Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace, so seeing the sights couldn’t be simpler. Set over two floors, there’s space here for a small group to stay, with a sofa bed that sleeps one. There are a few downsides, like the lack of an oven and not having a lift to the fourth floor. But we think the location makes up for that. And the roof terrace is a real treat – a picturesque place to sit with a coffee or cocktail while admiring the Venetian views.
Home truths: *There's no lift here. You'll need to be able to climb stairs to reach the entrance of the home on the fourth floor. Inside, the apartment is set over three floors, including the roof terrace, so it might not be the best option for those with reduced mobility.
*The small double bed in the second bedroom can only sleep one guest. The low beams in this bedroom mean it might not be suitable for taller guests.
*At full occupancy, one guest will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area.
*You won't find an oven here – though there is a hob. We think the kitchen is better suited to prepping lighter bites than large meals.
*Let your host know in advance if you'll be arriving before the 3pm check-in time, as you may be able to store your luggage in the apartment.
