Le Sodole - Petunia Apartment 4

Podere le Sodole is a rare gem. Unfortunately, the charm of this beautiful old Tuscan house has faded. The good amenities, large pool, old (and rickety) furniture, lovely view, and very friendly owner can't compensate for the lack of cleanliness, the unpleasant smell, the poor cell service, the lack of Wi-Fi, the absence of outdoor lighting, the rickety doors, the treacherous paths, and other issues. The natural garden with its olive trees, cypresses, and pomegranates is wonderful.

First of all, our thanks to the lovely landlord who is very uncomplicated, friendly and accommodating. Yes, the complex is getting on in years, but it exudes the charm of Tuscany and can be described as perfect in terms of value for money. The beds don't give that impression at first, but they are absolutely top-notch, as I usually have problems with my back. The pool is nice and it is very quiet. I would not recommend the complex for small children, fences have damage.

Accommodation, service and location all positive. Only the current regulations at the pool were a bit annoying. It was more forbidden than allowed. There was a problem with the technology in general. WLAN only stable where the router is. Otherwise hardly any WiFi reception. First of all, we loaded the dishwasher with rinse aid and salt. But the apartment - super clean! Always my pleasure!!

Beautiful old furniture, partly a bit shabby, very quiet location between vineyards and olive groves, beautiful pool with salt water instead of chlorine and a view of the countryside. Nice, hard-working landlord. San Gimignano is too far to walk. Steep driveway.

Bad accommodation ...! Untreated swimming pool, ... Badly maintained house fixtures that did not close! Unsafe bridge! Broken pipes!

We spent vacation in San Gimignano with our family of five during the Pentecost holidays. Everyone recovered perfectly from everyday stress. It was heavenly calm there. We really liked the property. We'd love to come back!

The apartment is just a few kilometers from San Gimignano, whose old town is well worth seeing. There are two options for shopping in town and you can quickly get to Siena, Volterra, etc. We stayed in the "Petunia" apartment and had everything you could need there. There were six of us (2 families, each with a baby/small child and a total of 1 dog) and we felt very comfortable. Everything was a bit older, but well maintained and clean (especially the pool). The supervisor/manager (/owner?) was always available and took good care of everything. We will definitely come back!
