My husband and I have just spent 2 weeks in this superbly positioned property. The entrance to Romeo and Giullietta apartments is on Corso Umberto 1, a main street of the stunning Sicilian Baroque city Modica . Nearby shops include supermarkets, butchers, fresh fish shops, bakers, excellent restaurants , clothes , souvenirs , delicious ice creams , museums , fabulous churches and if you rent a car there is also free parking in 5-6 minutes walk. There is a little train which tours Modica several times every day. It takes you right to the top of the city to San Giorgio and San Giovanni churches and the commentary, in Italian and English is very informative. The internationally famous TV series Inspector Montalbano is filmed in this spectacular Ragusa area - the introduction is an aerial view of it. Scicli's Town Hall - Inspector Montalbano's Police station. Punta Secca - Salvo's house are 15 and 40 minutes drive away. The luxurious, comfortable and well equipped Romeo and Giullietta apartments are at the top of the building and there are 60 stairs to reach them. This could be difficult for older people with luggage but XXXX who met us , gave us the keys and introduced the apartment's facilities to us also insisted on carrying our two heavy cases both on arrival and departure. XXX was very helpful and friendly to us. It was a pleasure to meet him and we would love to return. We would very happily recommend this property to any of our friends.
