Area
The Peak District village of Longnor is situated to the east of River Dove and to the west of River Manifold. The village offers shops, a Post Office, tea shop, a craft centre and a church. In the area there a host of attractions to visit, including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Buxton, Bakewell and Alton Towers. The historic market square is also worth a visit in your leisure time.

We stayed at the Shooting Lodge for a week at the end of July and it was amazing. The accommodation was wonderful only bettered by the stunning views from the decking. A lovely place to go back to after a walk in the countryside. A big thank you to Claire and Gary for a very warm welcome. We would definitely love to come back again soon.

The lodge was exactly the kind of place I was looking for when I was looking to book a place in the peak district. It consists of a bedroom, en-suite bathroom, kitchen, living room and decking outside which oversee's some of the hill's in the peak district. The rooms were perfectly sized, there were plenty of utensils and crockery provided in the kitchen, the owners were the perfect hosts and incredibly friendly people. The living room had a TV, a cabinet full of DVD's and the most amazing fireplace. Everything was perfect for the most romantic of stays. The location is also really good, you can get in your car and drive to wherever you need in the peak district. The rooms were incredibly warm and the shower was also really powerful. Overall, I would highly recommend this perfectly presented lodge, it was everything I expected and so much more.

We had a lovely relaxing break here.. It was the perfect place to unwind and spend quality time together. It is remote but the views are something you will never forget. The hosts were friendly and helpful and i would recommend this happily to anyone. A thoroughly enjoyed break.

A beautiful lodge, wonderful hosts.. Couldn't do enough. Loved the shower and interior design. Perfect to relax in front of the log burner on a rainy day/night. Beautiful views. Peaceful. Would definitely recommend.

This lodge is very well equipped and ideal for a couple looking for a real get away.. It is quiet and peaceful and the owners are friendly and helpful. An ideal base for touring the Peak District.

The shooting lodge was beautiful, it contained everything we needed and the setting was just perfect for our brrsk, looking out onto tbe Peak District watching tbe wild deer.. The lodge wad exceptional and no doubt 'Well be back'

Hired The Shooting Lodge for my elderly parents.. Unfortunatley that week was not good weather and they both felt cold in the lodge.The owners kindly adjusted the timer but they still felt it was cold and the heating should not have been on a timer but would have been better controlled by the people staying in the lodge.Logs could be purchased from the owners for the log burner which was used each evening.The lodge is quite a drive from the town but if it is a quiet holiday your looking for then this is ideal.Very clean and well looked after.

Absolutely beautiful lodge.. It is immaculate and clean with a well equipped kitchen for cooking. The views are stunning and so peaceful. Would highly recommend for a short getaway in the beautiful countryside. Would definitely love to visit again. Thank you!
