Slade Cottage is a delightful, stone-built property situated within the Staffordshire Peak District. It houses two bedrooms, comprising of a ground floor twin bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a king-size double bedroom with an en-suite. On the first floor, you will find a cosy sitting room, complete with a woodburning fire place and downstairs, you will find a well-equipped kitchen/diner. Outside, there is access to a patio area to the rear of the property, as well as off-road parking. Slade Cottage is a delightful getaway.

Area
Ilam is a small village, resting next to the River Manifold, among the limestone hills of the Staffordshire Peak District. The area play host to a number of attractions to keep you busy, including Ilam Park, a National Trust owned property, providing the perfect place for a picnic or a leisurely stroll. The market town of Ashbourne is close by and he thrilling Alton Towers is within easy reach.

The ultimate in “year-round” appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

I cannot fault this accomodation. It was clean, very well equipped and had loads of character. There is stunning views from the cottage and you are surrounded by field, livestock and character. The cake, fizz and milk on arrival was very welcome (and delicious). We and the dogs felt at home and had a lovely break. It was one of the best equipped cottages that we have ever stayed in. The owners are friendly but not intrusive.

Long drive for us but it was worth it..this place is cosy and few other cottages either side but enough space for privacy.Lovely walks with the dog who wanted to move here!Lots of stuff provided ..tea,coffee etc.Julie is very approachable as the owners are in the Great Barn.I just can’t fault it and good weather for the 3 days luckily.This cottage is well worth the money and I love the fact it’s been around since the 1700s!Definitely will return in the future.

Very welcoming and warm cozy cottage with everything you need. Milk, Prosecco and chocolate brownies to welcome us. Owner checked on arrival we had everything, very welcoming but not intrusive. Surrounded by lovely walks and the amazing Derbyshire hills. Will definitely return.

One of three cottages in the same location as the owner's house with stunning walks right from the door and fields where dogs can run freely, this is a truly dog friendly place. Inside the cottage is beautifully presented and very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen and a much appreciated welcome pack of brownies, prosecco and milk. The owners are helpful but not intrusive and we would very much like to return. The gardens are shared, with defined areas for each property but not separated by fences, which could be tricky for owners of dogs who aren't very sociable.

We found the cottage to be very comfortable and relaxing, the log burner stove was a nice feature which made the lounge cosy.. There are several good walks that you can start and finish at the cottage. We would be looking to make another booking later in the year.
