Minster Lovell is a village and civil parish in West Oxfordshire on the River Windrush. It is popular for its ruin Minster Lovell Hall, famed for allegedly being the place the ninth Lord Lovell’s remains were found in an underground room. It is often visited now for picnics by the river or long walks through the surrounding meadows, as well as the dovecote nearby. It has several local county inns, including The White Hart and the Old Swan which provide excellent food and real ale. There are public footpaths that cross the field to the parish church or across the river to a small weir where local children often go to swim. Nearby attractions include the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Kilkenny Lane Country Park, both within a short driving distance. Minster Lovell is located 4 miles west of Witney and 2 miles east of Carterton.

Being able to sit outside in the beautiful sunshine was an added bonus.. We also had the family dog Millie come to join us in the sun which was lovely as she’s very friendly. It was nice and peaceful at the cottage which is just what we needed.

We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the property.. John, the owner, met us the evening we arrived and gave us a quick run down of the unit and the surrounding amenities. This was very helpful. Even though the owners live on site, we hardly felt their presence, and were able to have quiet enjoyment of the property. The facilities were first class, very modern and very clean. We would recommend this property without hesitation.
