Area
Sutton-on-Trent is an attractive, sizable village in Nottinghamshire, between the cities of Sheffield and Lincoln. The village has over 2000 acres of land and is located on the River Trent. If you're looking for somewhere to go on a night when you don't feel like cooking, the Lord Nelson, a locally owned and operated establishment, is your best bet. Classic cars, morris dancing, and performances by local bands and artists are just some of the highlights of the annual festival that takes place in the village every September. Lincoln, a scenic drive away, offers a plethora of attractions, such as the Lincoln Castle (built in the 11th century) with guided tours, the Lincoln Medieval Bishops' Palace (with ruins and a heritage garden), and the Museum of Lincolnshire Life (where you can learn even more about the region's history). Sheffield also has great shopping at The Moor Market and many restaurants and bars along Victoria Quays, such as Bunk, Frog and Parrot, and Gatsby. Sutton-on-Trent is a convenient base from which to discover the rest of Nottinghamshire.
