The busy cities of Sheffield, Nottingham and Derby are all within easy driving distance, offering a cultural experience all-year-round.

The photos online do not do the place justice - house and gardens absolutely beautiful.. I couldn't fault it if I tried. Everything we could have needed was thought of and provided for, I can't wait to go back!

This was our first venture into UK holidays, apart frfom short, hotel breaks, after many years of holidaying around the world.. We have reached that stage in our lives when we do not want the hassle (so to speak) of airports and flights and health considerations too now have a bearing. We chose cottage thinking that we could "do our own thing" and hoped for peace and tranquility, rest and relaxation Riverside Lodge gave us all of that and we could not have asked for more. A superbly designed and equipped cottage in a beautiful setting. Just what we wanted ! We have already booked to return in September

It was lovely to walk in and find a welcome pack from the owner, it was amazingly clean, tidy and smelt wonderful with the diffusers, everything worked how it should and the views were spectacular.. keep doing what you do. Thank you for a wonderful honeymoon.

The lodge was well equipped, super clean and comfortable.. The lake, gardens and stream that are in the grounds are very beautiful and peaceful. Great little retreat and a with clumber park and lots of country walks nearby, we had a great stay. The host also left a few essential items there for us in terms of milk, tea, coffee, washing up liquid and so on. Great little place.

The cottage is in a fantastic location if you want to just relax and do nothing but it is close enough to explore the local towns and places of interest.. Although it is close to the owners own house there was no intrusion on your privacy. The owners were also very friendly and even allowed us to explore the garden area as if it were our own home including use of the patio area near to the stream. We had a fantastic stay and will definitely be back.

Beautiful cottage with fantastic gardens and great welcome pack, lovely owners made us feel very welcome.. Great location for sight seeing and walking. Nice local pub good food and lovely staff and friendly locals.

Riverside lodge was the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed at .. The surroundings were beautiful the owners were very nice plenary of places to visit in the area , we are going back next year that's for sure .had a wonderful time .

We had a wonderful stay at Riverside Lodge, it was above all expectations and the grounds that it is situated in are beautiful and very well looked after and loved by the owners who made our stay a very welcoming one.. The kitchen is very modern well laid out and fully equipped, comfortable bed, and well designed for two people, II could find no faults at all with our stay and we will defiantly be returning.

Riverside Cottage exceeded all our expectations.. Absolutely everything we needed was provided including a much appreciated welcome pack. It is beautifully furnished and comfortable. The gardens are beautiful with streams, waterfalls, a pond, flowers, so many different birds, ducks, swans and rabbits. We felt we had been dropped into an oasis and will definitely go back.

This cottage is an 'Oasis in Sherwood' .. . has everything you need and more, three streams with numerous waterfalls cascading through the garden, fed from a mill pond which edges up to the lawn of the adjacent owners property. Everything in the cottage is new, and the lovely welcome pack was very much appreciated, it's very spacious for a one bedroom cottage, and the upstairs lounge and bedroom works well, in the kitchen on sunny warm days the patio door four sections rollback to allow the beautiful garden view to be fully appreciated. It's quiet and peaceful with lots of resident birds to appreciate, and just the sound of running water in the background. If we visit the area again we would certainly return to this lovely 'Oasis'
