There are some delightful walks in the area, but perhaps the loveliest are at Allen Banks - 194 acres of woodland and riverside paths just 3 miles from Haydon Bridge. The picturesque village of Haydon Bridge dates back to the 14th Century and is situated on both banks of the South Tyne river with an ancient pedestrian bridge over.
