Area Between Cracoe and Burnsall rests the Cracoe Reef Knolls, a collection of low lying limestone hills which contain the remnants of a pre-historic ocean that once covered the land. In nearby Grassington tourists can visit the Folk Museum which is housed in two miner’s cottages and features many exhibits and artefacts on village life through the ages. Photo is a bit misleading as the hedge had not been cut so access to the lawn area was restricted.. However the patio was fine for sitting out. Awkward to get onto the internet (we had to seek help from the owner and caretaker) and to tune in the TV. Otherwise the cottage was comfortable and well-equipped and we enjoyed our stay.

Shiers Farmhouse was absolutely stunning.. Furnished and equipped to a really high standard with a lovely garden. Great base for seeing the surrounding areas of Grassington, Linton, Kilnsey, Burnsall & Appletreewick.
